Does the comicbook seem short to you?

I was just reading threw it, again, and it just seems to me that the book seems kind of short. There was only around 25 pages to it, with Buffy and around 32 total. I just thought they were longer. Now, it's been a while since I last picked on up, so I could be wrong. But I wish they would make it longer. Closer to 50 pages would be good!!
 
Yea it does seem pretty short...but then again 10-15 minutes reading doesn't compare to 45 minutes of TV viewing.
 
Yeah, it's like having an appetizer for Thanksgiving. But if you really love comics, you read them about 5-6 times each, heh. You go back and admire the art, the layout, the dialogue...I had it in my brain that they were slightly longer back in the 70s-80s, but Marvel Masterworks seems to suggest otherwise. They had special double issues and stuff (they still do), but they were always short bits of story. It's just the nature of the beast. You have to go way back to the Golden Age for most of the big books (which were really multiple stories bundled together).

I'm just impressed at the economy of the writing/storytelling. It must be an adjustment for TV/film/novel writers to come in and get used to the format.
 
ok I had a talk with my brother who is into comics and He told me that, most or some comcis are that short.So maybe they'll get longer lol.
 
You could always wait till they come out with the trade paperback volumes. That's how a lot of people read all their comics.
 
Except I'm impatient.
Every issue should take me 40 minutes to read, not 10 😉
 
Short, expensive, unobtainable (in amazon), nonexistent (in amazon.co.uk) and there is a huge gap between release dates.

Amazon will have the trade paperbacks, tho, I've bought several from them.
I think physically it is very short, but thats only cuz we're used to the tv series. But I still think it gets through allot in those few pages, like thins issue had me laugh a few times, be shocked and suprised - the series did the same thing, So I'm very happy!

I don't think its that expensive. I know it's different prices in different places but it's €4 for me to buy it in Ireland. And concidering Buffys season had 22 episodes - €4 times 22 = 88. 88 Euro for a season of Buffy thatw cheaper then I paid for the others.

And you don't really notice the huge gap - like it didn't feel that long ago that I was goin in to get #1, I actully wen't in to get it with someone else who likes comics and when I said I was getting the Buffy one he was suprised it was out already and hadn't relaised how much time had passed.
 
Hell yeah it's short. It's like the teaser they play before the credits. And I don't think it's expensive. Over here it's only like $2.50.

2.99 for the issue and 4.99 for the shipping is expensive in my book. I only wish they do publish the complete season 8.
 
I thought it was quite cheap - I got mine from forbidden planet for about £2 !

i was expecting to pay about £4
 
I can understand frustrations with the brevity of each issue. Personally, I think they should have released this in graphic novel form with each "arc" or "episode" being released all at once in one $10 100-page volume. Tiny 25-page issues may be fine for most other comic books, but most of them aren't official extensions of a TV series. Buffy: Season Eight is a season of a television show in comic book form, and it should be treated as such. We wouldn't have had episodes released in four separate chunks back before Buffy's TV run ended, so we shouldn't have episodes released in four separate chunks now. Even if there was, say, a three-to-four-month wait between the release of each new graphic novel, that would be fine with me because at least I would be able to read an entire episode for the first time in one sitting.

I get your point, one issue takes 10mins to read, it should take me 40 ;)
I have to agree, 100 pg comic would be GREAT!! One a month, then it's like 1 show a month instead of 4 but still better then 4 or 5 months for 1 show.
