Does the Da Vinci Code movie suck?

Well, with some films.. even if you have read the book, seeing the film is still exciting and you just can't wait to see what'll happen the next second. The book was like that to me, the film wasn't. It was easy to predict lines etc. That's not to say the film sucked, I don't think it did, but it just wasn't half as interesting as the book, imo.

The thing is, that what I really liked in the book was basically the problem solving and the numbers and stuff (yeah i used to be a math geek I guess).. The characters aren't exactly super interesting cause well, you don't exactly get to know them a whole lot.. And I don't know how well all that stuff worked in the film.. I don't know in a way it felt to me like they were reading the book while showing us what it might have looked like..
 
I agree with epo on this one... I wasn't overly impressed with the movie, but I also didn't walk out of it... I did expect more from a book that kept me captivated until the very end... But the movie was a little too predictible, as would be most movies that had come from books.

My bestfriend did enjoy it, however, since she never read the book. I think I would have enjoyed it had I not read the book, and still been able to enjoy the book afterwards.
 
Having never read the book, I quite enjoyed the movie. I'm interested in those crazy-history, mystery-seeking, run-from-the-feds type of movies. It wasn't brilliant, but it was entertaining. Which is what a movie is supposed to do. Entertain. Leave the deep-thinking and all that to the books. 😉
 
i'm gonna wait for rental. i've read the book and honestly i enjoyed 'angels & demons' 10 times more than 'the da vinci code' anyway. another reason that kind of irked me was the fact that tom hanks was playing robert langdon. he just doesn't match the character, in my humble opinion. he might make me eat my words, but alas, it won't be until blockbuster gets it.
