Does the season need more Horror ???

Does Buffy the Vampire Slayer need more Horror shock moments??? I think yes and Demon of fear was a good begining i thought. ok the end was weak but I think it needs more Horror. Some goog Horror!!!

I think Buffy had a good amount of horror, but even more would have been awesome too. 🙂

It's hard to describe so it'll sound confuseing lol. It had horror, but it's now like jump out of your seat horror.

I mean i'd say that Passion was more an episode of Horror the way Angelus killed Jenny and tormented the others. But it's not the Horror that you would go to the movies for.

I'd say it had just the right amount. There were moments that probably made people jump a bit etc, but if it became overly about Horror, it would have lost a bit of it's appeal in my opinion.

I think The Gentleman in Hush are the definition of horror - utterly terrifying!!!!!

I think BtVS struck a good balance between that scary-jump out of your seat horror, and one that was about dark storytelling, emotional-horror, an example of which [MENTION=11615]Steven123[/MENTION] mentions!! - Gotta love that Passion episode!!!

I think Hush had enough horror that the season really needed. I remember being scared to death when I watched that show in middle school. I think there was a reason it won an Emmy.

It's really hard to scare me...but I liked the amount of horror on Buffy. It worked for the show. The "horror" in Hush was really well done. I didn't find the Gentlemen scary, I found them eerie. That's what I've always loved about Buffy, there was always this eerie sense to it. I feel like the show kind of lost that after season 4. Episodes like Nightmares, Killed By Death, The Wish, Who Are You...just to name a few, felt eerie to me.

But yeah...maybe the show could have had a bit more horror...Angel had a LOT of moments that were pretty damn creepy. Billy was a clear homage to The Shining which I loooved. Also, when The Beast went on his rampage, that was great. And the whole Jasmine arc reminded me of some weird horror movie, it was very "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"esque.

I've mentioned this before in another thread - if BtVS had more horror I think it would have been less "family friendly", would have alienated some of the fans who began watching it as children and would completely change the dynamic of the show.

First sorry, I didn't saw your thread, if I would have, I would have posted there.
And I completely agree with you. But maybe it would have got a better popularity for teenagers and adults! I don't know on which age most of the Buffy fans started watching, but personally for me it would make the hole show a little bit greater and I may could watch it with friends on our Horror-nights, inwhich we just watch some horrorfilms. I don't think it is good for the show if there is just horror in every episdoe! I am talking about one or two eipsodes per season which are really scary...

I honestly thought Buffy was scary in every episode. I mean, if it made me scared to wrong a woman or else an ugly looking vengance demon would boil my intestines.....then the show's done its job. 😛

No seriously, like [MENTION=11561]TheAnnointedOne[/MENTION] said, it was all about the emotional horror. I think that's what set it apart from every other "horror" show. It didn't need gore or guts. Life is more scarier than any vampire.
