Actually I never thought that age defined your favorite season or era.

I think its when you came into the show. With the basic exception of Season 1.

I mean most of the people that I have met who started watching Buffy from the beginning love the very first seasons and the same for the middle and later seasons.

I also think this may be true for 'ships. Primarily out of all the Bangels, most of them I have met or talked to started watching in the beginning while the Spuffies came in during the end.

What an interesting question. And some even more interesting answers. I honestly don't know how to answer this one...I'm so post-everything, you could call me antedeluvian 😉. Ireally like Buffy in High School. Believe it or not, I can actually remember some of the issues on the show being handled by my classmates and me in HS (not vampires, but popularity, dating, rodentlike Principals, etc)...it rang true in a way that no other show has yet, with respect to HS life (but Joan of Arcadia is getting close...). However, I did enjoy watching the characters mature and grow post HS, and face the whole new set of problems that come with young adulthood. Again, it rang very true. If you twist my arm and demand an answer, I'd have to say I liked S6 best, followed closely by S1-3.

Well I am definitely in the "˜post highschool era,' lmao, but I really liked seasons 3 - 7 which spans the highschool and post highschool eras. I went to HS at the same time as Buffy, and we were the same age through the whole series, so I could always relate to the current season. But season 3 remains my favorite.

I was in elemantary school during the highschool years and like a year of collage....

But I liked the highschool years, they just seemed so refreshing to watch and the charecters just seemed in their prime at most and well we had the orignal cast back than and they had great chemistry. Seeing Cordelia always give her thoughts to the rest of the gang and them not really caring, Willow always worrying about something....ah the good old days. But the collage years were ok but they never really went into it except for Season4 which after than it kinda dissapeared.

I'm in college right now, and I can say my favorite era was when the gang was in college as well. I just thought the storylines were so much juicier and the characters were going through so much at the time which is what happens when you do graduate from high school. Your opinions change, you experiment with different things, and I think seasons 4-7 really expressed that. Grant it, I don't have to fight demons on a daily basis but I can still relate.

I'm definatley "BTVS Era: Post High School My Era: High School" I prefered BtVs in the later years then the High School years. I can't really explain why...

I'm post high school. I caught a Thanksgiving marathon of Buffy during it's sixth season. So...my first introduction was a few high school eps, then I started watching Season 6. I really enjoyed the humor of the high school era...but I liked the college years, in how everyone kind of grew and changed. This is hard...

I love the Buffy High School era. When I was going through High school seasons 1 through 3 were airing. I still prefer the first 3 seasons even now, but I prefer them because I'm a bangel fan more than anything 🙂

Can I sit on the fence? I'm well past high school and my fav seasons in order, and really closely spaced, go 3, 5, 6, 2. So what am I to do?

I think the beauty of Buffy though, is that whoever you are you can always find plenty to relate to in any era and in every character.

For me season 1 and half of s 2 had too many monster-of-the-week eps that didn't really focus on developing the arc or characters so much (i'm always so confused by Go Fish being placed betw IOHEFY and Becoming pt1) . But then what can you expect from the first couple of seasons of any series. There was an innocence and fun about those seasons. And season 4 is not good... Season 7 could heve been better... But as seasons they are far more complete and full of developmentally goodness. I'm going to take a stand and give a firm "I dunno".

Ooops!

I'm post high school and loved the high school ones, but I clicked the second one instead!!

I did get hooked on it junior year of hs though, and S2 is my favorote, so maybe that had something to do with it.

When I was in high school my favourite Buffy season was 3. Now it's season 4 and season 6. I guess it is something to do with my age. 😉

I'm pretty much with killerdwarf on this - in that, I'm so far beyond high school and college, it's just not funny 😉 I can find things I like in all the Buffy seasons and am still unsure as to my absolute favourite...so I'm gonna wimp out and say that I can't answer this...

I am in high school, and I am partial to the high school episodes. I am not sure that this is any proof that age dictates favorite era, since I really prefer Angel to Buffy, which seems to be geared toward the post-high school viewers.

I was in highschool when buffy first aired in 1997. She graduated in 99 and i graduated in 01 so there were a few years apart. I was a 9th grader she was a 11th grader i believe. But yeah high schooler at the time and that was my fave era.

I voted btvs era: post high school, my era: high school. There probably is a connection.

Personally I don't like the high school eps because to me, in the UK, they are unrealistic. Cheerleaders, 'football', tose weird green boards they write on- these are highly american (or at least highly non-uk). But the college episodes were much more easy for me to realate to, even though I'm not at college yet. So imo there's some kind of international difference thing going on.

So...Buffy started in '97, and I graduated HS in '95, so i was in college when they were in high school.

But I told you that to tell you this: I prefer HS to PHS.

I voted for Buffy era: Post High School My era: High school

I'm in High school and I really like the post high school episodes. I'm not sure why, actually, but I just kinda like them better. They're all great though.

I got into the show late (around the second season, if my faulty memory serves me right) and was over ten years out of high school by that point, but the high school years did remind me what it was like (minus the scary monsters and high mortality rate).

My favorite seasons were 3-7, because the supporting cast started to get more screen time (after sending her lover to hell, what else could Buffy do?) and I absolutly adore the supporting cast. So I would have to vote for PHS in both.
