Doesn't the slayer deserve help?

Not sure where to put my question so just put it here 🙂 if the ptb sent Doyle to angel to help him fight the good fight then how come they never sent a seer to the slayer?

Slayers are supposed to be solitary beings who act on instinct. As shown by Buffy and Faith, accepting help isn't something that they find easy. Besides they have Watchers, that could count as help, just not on a divine level like the PTB.

Certainly, Buffy deserved help, but then, EVERY Slayer deserved just as much help, if not more, especially considering the Watchers' habit of using them basically as cannon fodder in the war against vampires, demons, ant things that go "bump" in the night. The Slayer has a very important mission. She stands, all alone, between the world and all things evil. But other than the fact that it's her series, I never saw any reason why Buffy should have been singled out for help when apparently neither Nikki Wood, Kendra, Faith, nor any other Slayer who we knew anything about ever had any.

Totally they do. I think though, that the PTB (if they have the same thought process as we do, which, given their...mixed results, isn't likely) saw that they have the backing (sort of) of the Council and their own Watcher...uh...watching their back, so to speak. Now obviously, that's just me reaching a bit since the Council made it very clear through the course of the series that they don't care at all for the life of the Slayer, and that Giles and Wesley were unique in that they personally care for their Slayers. Both of them were reprimanded and punished by the Council for being unable to detach themselves from Buffy, Faith and, even though he's not a Slayer, Angel.

Prophecies have always played a big part in both series', and Angel has a boat load written about him. I think the PTB really had him pegged as a major player in the fight against evil, knew how detached and alone he could become (we saw that a few times) after he left Buffy, and sent Doyle to help him out. Buffy already had a strong support group.

Well the visions that were sent to Angel were so that he could help others, therefore redeeming himself.

Buffy already helped others, and didn't need to redeem herself. Buffy had enough to do that visions would have been more of a hindrance than a help

Could it not be that the PTB deal with 'the' apocalypse, rather than the slayer fought run of the mill ones, and are we forgetting that the PTB sent angel to help buffy on the one occasion he did need her. They may have sent him again at the end of season 5, if he had been in this dimension and not in pylea. And as previously stated slayers have watchers, premonitions in dreams and they are easily replaceable, one dies another is called, which does not happen with champions like angel.
