Dog Spends Three Days Staring at Blue Wall And No One Can Explain Why

Earlier this week, a local veterinarian told Argentinian news site Puntal that Chicho had been staring at the blue wall for three straight days. Although he sometimes took a short break, he always came back and resumed his curious ritual. The vet said that he couldn’t offer a logical explanation for the animal’s behaviour, and could only speculate that Chicho was waiting for someone to come at the station, although that wouldn’t explain the staring at the wall.

A video of Chicho with his eyes glued to the wall has been viewed over a million times on various social networks, with some users offering their own theories for his behaviour. Some said that the animal was blind – which was later ruled out by the local vet – while others claimed that he must be able to see ghosts, or that he has Alzheimer’s.

1. Maybe the wall smelled nice, really nice. Like, fascinatingly so. Nothing to do with seeing anything (Dogs have pretty poor eyesight anyway).

OR 2. He's communicating with his alien overlords and telling them its time for the revolution. Soon all of humanity will be overthrown and we'll have to do tricks for out dog-masters; rolling over, shaking paws, endless games of fetch.
On the plus side they'll have to pick up OUR poop, so there's that.

Dogs are often thought to have no colour vision but they can have about 10,000 cone receptors for blue and yellow or enough to see a 100 x 100 avatar (like ours). Maybe he really likes the shade of blue.

Maybe he ate a cane toad and is just enjoying the ride.

My rabbit took to staring at a corner when I moved here, she was waiting for mousies to come out so she could bop them on the head.

Did anyone check if his ball rolled behind the wall?

My parents dog stares at bushes like that, we're pretty sure she thinks she saw a lizard run in. But who knows.

Maybe the dog is depressed. Don't some animals exibit repetitive behavior when depressed? (Like elephants shaking their heads?)

Horses pick up vices when they are unhappy - repetitive slightly agitated movements (sounds familiar hehe). The dog doesnt seem distressed in its stance (i havent seen anymore than the pic). When horses start habits like crib biting (chewing wood/windsucking), weaving etc, they never unlearn it - and will teach others to do the same. We'll have to check in next week to see if Mr Pup has taught his friends 😛
