Just cause I'm a curious guy can I see your top 10 of list of genre shows (horror, Sci-fi, fantasy, Spy-fi) rated against Dollhouse. I'll give you mine to show you what I mean.Actually I'll give you 2.

Dollhouse doesn't have to be on top. It just is with me, because I'm biased.

Dollhouse against American Network Genre TV shows

1. Dollhouse
2. Dexter
3. Supernatural
4. 24
5. Sarah Connors
6. Lost
7. Reaper
8. Heroes
9. Chuck
10. Smallville

I included Spy-Fi with 24 and Chuck, because they bend towards the fantastic, as opposed to more reality bent stuff like CSI and The Unit. This is a common interpretation of Genre.

Dollhouse against anything Genre - worldwide or cable

1. True Blood
2. Doctor Who
3. Dollhouse
4. Dexter
5. Supernatural
6. Saving Grace
7. 24
8. Sarah Connors
9. Lost
10. Being Human

I don't watch all those shows, but of the genre shows I do watch I'd say right now I rank Dollhouse third, behind Lost and Doctor Who.

how come 24 and Reaper are higher in your first list but not even listed in your 2nd.

I originally just posted 5 in the second, because I thought they just followed the first list after that. Then I thought, no, Being Human should be # 10 (which would change the list), so I just slapped up 4 without really thinking.

Thanks. I'll fix that.

So basically your list is actually rubbish, you just created a list of of programmes that randomly came into your head and arbitrarily gave them a number.

Well, that will surely make people want to post in your thread!

Oh, and if "Leverage" is considered genre I'd rate it about equally with Dollhouse.

Yeah it's interesting to get into the nitpick-y of what is or isn't Genre. I'd call Mission Impossible Genre, so without having seen Leverage myself, I'd say you have a point based on the wikipedia description.

I think The Simpsons won a Genre award one time. That's interesting too. If I added South Park, it would be fighting for a top 3 position on both lists. Then there's stuff like Robot Chicken. You'd have to consider Futurama. Oh Yeah, I forgot about that. I have to edit my top list again.

And EB, yes it's a rubbish list, as all such lists are. Give me yours. I want to see it.

I think overall my list goes (including stuff that only verges on Scifi) something like

Smallville
Supernatural
Heroes
Dollhouse
TSCC
Dexter
Bones
Life on Mars us (though its cancelled so its now just a mini series)
True Blood
24
House
Mentalist
Numb3rs
GW

Looking at this list makes me realize we living in a golden age of tv imo. Of course we never really know until were no longer living in it, but it seems every network is creating great shows

I'm not gonna bother because I don't have a number 1 show, I just have shows I like.
I will never be in a position where its a case of watching one over the other and never seeing it, so I don't particularly need to decide which is 'the best' because I guarentee you, that list will change often.

yea thats why I left numbers out, more an indication of good shows. But really, the shows i listed are just ALL the sci-fi shows lol, k so i may have missed bsg.

I'll settle for the calcuations for this week. :)

That's an interesting list, because of the borderline Genre entrees. I was fighting with myself about whether or not Dexter qualified. I chose not to, but I suspect you may be more right than me on that one. If I had added it, it would be top three.

In fact, I just argued with myself again, and Dexter made it onto the list. It could be considered psychological horror which is Genre.

I'm going to edit again.

So we're talking currently airing shows?

---------- Post added at 03:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:17 PM ----------

1. Doctor Who
2. Torchwood
3. Smallville
4. Supernatural
5. Dollhouse
6. Fringe
7. Sarah Connor Chronicles
8. Primeval
9. Ashes to Ashes
10. Reaper

If I can use recent UK short-run shows (I included Ashes to Ashes above because it's renewed for a second season in the UK, and it just started here in the US.):

1. Doctor Who
2. Torchwood
3. Smallville
4. Supernatural
5. Being Human
6. Dollhouse
7. Apparitions
8. Demons
9. Fringe
10. Sarah Connor Chronicles

3-Dollhouse
4-Degrassi
5-House
