I have no idea how reliable the link is but here it is. Joss Whedon's 'Dollhouse' canceled

Hopefully they'll at least air the last episodes.

"Dollhouse" is closing its doors at Fox.

The network has canceled Joss Whedon's cult fave, which in May beat the odds with a second-season pickup despite low ratings.

The sci-fi series, which is filming episode 11, is expected to finish its 13-episode order.

After some dismal performance in the fall, despite the ratings bumps "Dollhouse" got from DVR viewing, Fox benched the show for the November sweep after four episodes.

It is not clear if Fox will air the remaining episodes starting Dec. 4 as planned.
 
Not like it's surprising. Sad but not a surprise. The ratings has been too bad. Glad we got a second season at all and that by the looks of it they'll make all the episodes so we get a decent dvd out of it.
 
I am SO angry right now. I don't even think I can put into words just how much this has annoyed.

/me proceeds to swear. A lot.

Apparently Fox is now saying they haven't cancelled it... they just said they would not order any more episodes for this season.

So... this would mean we still get 13 episodes and they simply decided not to make it a full season of, say, 22 episodes and not that they have to stop filming pretty much immediately, right?

I thought they shot them all first, and then aired them?
 
Aaand Variety now says it is cancelled, but will run all the remaining episodes as planned.

If they're gonna cancel it, it's better to do it now. That way they can make episode 2.13 a proper series finale, and the cast and crew can look for new work during the hiatus.

They are filming episode 11 right now.

Well, let's look on the bright side. Maybe, just MAYBE, now, with the Joss and Eliza free to do something else, we can get a "Faith, The Vampire Slayer" series, though that would probably throw Season 8 out the window as far as canon is concerned. I could envision Faith and Illyria teaming up to fight beasties throughout the country. And James might be persuaded to put on the ol' leather duster for an occasional guest shot, if not a regular role.

Okay, I'm dreaming, but it's a nice dream, and I don't wanna wake up yet.

Hmm. Apparently my news is not news.

I don't have a lot to say. I'm extremely proud of the people I've worked with: my star, my staff, my cast, my crew. I feel the show is getting better pretty much every week, and I think you'll agree in the coming months. I'm grateful that we got to put it on, and then come back and put it on again.

I'm off to pursue internet ventures/binge drinking. Possibly that relaxation thing I've read so much about. By the time the last episode airs, you'll know what my next project is. But for now there's a lot of work still to be done, and disappointment to bear.
