"Dollhouse" Outside The U S

Someone mentioned in another thread that "Dollhouse" wasn't yet playing internationally yet, and I was just wondering, if that is true, if Board members in other countries can watch on the internet at sites like Fancast?
 
Fancast appears to get its videos direct from Hulu, and as such is also region locked.

I would also like to remind everyone to keep discussion of where you can watch Dollhouse firmly in the legal. If people start posting illegal links the topic will be closed. If you have a link but aren't sure about it, feel free to contact a mod via PM and we can verify it for you.

But at least downloading it is better then not getting to watch it at all 😀

Technically we in NA are supposed to wait about a year to watch Doctor Who. There's got to be a better way to do this international stuff.
 
We also have to watch it online on what's probably doubtful sites.
The thing is...when I was younger and still living in Germany EVERY show took ages to be shown (if at all), HIMYO for example only got started in Germany last year, BUT that's not the only issue, everything gets dubbed and frankly, no way in hell I will wait years for a dubbed version that sucks when I can watch the good original right after it aired in the US online.
And this is not only specific to Dollhouse, but to every show.

There does seem to be improvement. In the Netherlands shows used to be behind two to three years back in the early 2000s. Now popular shows like Grey's Anatomy or Desperate Housewives are sometimes less than two months behind. Although most shows are between half a year and a year behind.
 
If we get it in Australia, it will most likely be on pay-tv, which I don't have. 🙁
 
Like Cangel says, there are plenty, and dubious to say the least, sites where you can watch it, without having to download. They have however saved my life, concerning Dollhouse anyway, because, well, I can watch the episodes some hours after they aired, without downloading anything. It's nicer for my computer, and in the end, maybe also for them (I mean, if I don't have all the episodes on my pc already, I might want to buy the dvd, you know?).

The problem with living in the Netherlands, or actually Belgium, is that there's no market whatsoever for shows like this, they'd rather see some stupid Z-list celebrities with eachother in a house-kind of show. Lots of great American shows sort of dissapear trying to cross the North Sea. So there's a fairly big chance that I will never have the opportunity to watch Dollhouse 100% legally, without buying the dvds.
 
I think the way we view tv is going to change drastically over the next decade. The reason is, this isnt just a small problem. I remember in uni, i didnt know a single person who didnt watch TV shows right after they aired illegally. What they need to do is find out how to internationally air and advertise shows because until that happens, this wont get any better. Its just a really tall order and will take some serious work and partnerships.

I know that the BBC works a fair bit with HBO and other networks, so to be fair the international links are already in place for creating shows - its not a huge leap for them to distribute internationally.

Also, aren't BSkyB and Fox owned by Murdoch, which explains why we get shows like 24 one week after US air date.

The connections are already in place and it wouldn't be too hard for the studios/networks to do region specific advertising.

Only problem is there has to be a company willing to take that first step and obviously there will be reluctance because if it fails, it could mean losing money.

I do, personally, believe the benefits largely outweigh the risks though.

fantastic news, although Im way ahead with everyone else haha.
Here in Canada it is played once every Friday, same time as the USA. But just like other international countries there's no legal way to view it otherwise, so if you miss it then, you're out of luck.

Wanted to post this link though in case others didn't catch it. Apparently there is now a UK release date for the series, Whedonesque announced a couple days ago that the first UK airing will take place on Tuesday, May 19th at 9pm, on Sci Fi UK.

Well, but it's like that in every other country, too. Especially in countries where everything gets dubbed. *cough*
I feel that people here in Germany watch less and less TV because a) it takes for forever to get shown here, b) then we only get a crappy dub, so people who want to watch their series just watch it online or download the episodes. I think the only people left here who watch US shows on German TV either don't speak English (that good) or just happened to stumble across the show and don't watch it religiously.
 
Dollhouse in the UK?

This may sound like a stupid question but has this program aired in the UK yet, if so what channel?

If its not when is it due to air and what channel?

If its already been on in the UK is it due to repeat?
 
My mom has missed a couple episodes and she needs to be caught up. We here in the usa can watch it on Hulu if that happens (never to me, haha) and I want her to be able to catch up online. Sooo, where can Canadians go to watch this online?
 
It's not available down here in Mexico unless you have a satelite dish or the most high end cable packages (I'm assuming, I don't have myself) and on local TV it's completely unknown.

I'm watching it online. I just watched the first two episodes while I should have been working, didn't get my butt fired (yeah) and really enjoyed it a lot more than I expected.

Was very suprised to hear that Dollhouse will be shown here in Sweden with start already on Sunday, April 19th.
Think it was Friendly Lurker that posted this somewhere.

Not so happy when I finally found which channel it was on though.
It's on a channel called TV400. I barely knew it existed myself.
Guess they don't expect that many viewers...
Noticed that I can get that channel on my cable though. Will change my channels so I can see it just for the sake if it.

It says 13 episodes btw. If thats true we will get to see all episode at least.
