Ok so having watched all of Buffy and Angel I am thinking of starting to watch Dollhouse as it is being aired on t'Sci-Fi channel. Problem is, i'll be watching from half way through season 2. So I was wondering if someone could give me a general premise of the show, what it's about, main characters, etc. I'm not really looking for spoilers, just the general gist of the show.

Cheers, TG

I really wouldn't advise you start halfway through Season 2, you'll be really lost.

The main premises of the show is there is an Organization that run Dollhouses, where people are wiped of any personality and imprinted with various ones like the perfect date or a ballet dancer and their rented out to people (at a very expensive cost)

The Show focuses on Echo who starts becoming more aware of whats happening to her even though they keep wiping her memories.

The second half of season 2 starts running with major storyline stuff that you'll be totally lost on, I'd really recomend you go back and start from the start!

Hmm, so I've just watched the first two eps of Dollhouse S1, and I've gotta admit, i'm kinda underwhelmed. Ok so, the central idea seems quite cool, but I can see the format getting boring fairly soon. I'm also finding it hard to connect with any of the characters, obviously Echo because she's always a different person, but I find the other characters boring, predictable and cliched. Gotta say, I'm not impressed, and am really in two minds as to whether to continue watching.

Its not really that good is it.
You need to give it a chance! Buffy s1 wasn't all that great either ye know. 😉
Pleaseplease give it a chance, lmao. Season 2 explores more of the characters though, so try and get into liking echo first . 😛

Don't give up! The show really starts to pick up later in the season, and season 2 was sooo good.
I mean, you managed to sit through the first season of Buffy, right?

The show really picks up by episode six. The studio basically forced them to make five pilots instead of the original which told the same basic story as those five. After that, the show gets really good. Then by the second season, it becomes something fantastic.

I agree give the show another chance and get to the middle of season 1, around episode 5 or 6 I think it is you'll get hooked. I know I was, (even though I loved the show from episode 1) during the middle of the season you can really see where Joss wanted the show to go from the beginning. Its the same for season 2 really.

If I'm completely honest, I spent the whole first season of Buffy staring at Buffy's legs in those really short skirts. 😛

But on a more serious note, I may continue with my Dollhouse watching at a later date 🙂

Yeah I have to agree that because of the way Fox was at the beginning with basically saying exactly what they wanted for the first couple of episodes...which turned out for the most part wrong (big surprise there) there is a little bit of slow goingness at the very beginning. Although I did love it from the off. But around 1x05/1x06 it just gets amazing and very signature Joss which is always great. So yes, my advice, like everyone else is keep with it, really.
