Episode 2 ratings are out, 4.22 million which is a drop off compared with the pilot... interestingly its already at #1 on hulu after a day.

Fast National ratings for Friday, Feb. 20, 2009.

The second week numbers for FOX's dramas weren't anymore encouraging than the first, as CBS' dramas swept the night, even in repeats.

Among adults 18-49, CBS and ABC tied for the night with a 1.7 rating, followed closely in the key demographic by FOX's 1.5 rating and the 1.3 rating for NBC. The CW was fifth with a 0.5 rating.

Overall, though, CBS averaged an estimated 8.13 million viewers and a 5.2/9, easily beating the 3.7/7 for ABC. NBC's 2.9/5 and the 2.7/5 for FOX followed. The CW's 0.8/1 trailed.

"Flashpoint" delivered a 5.1/9 for CBS in the 9 p.m. hour. ABC's "Supernanny" was second. FOX's "Dollhouse" finished third with a 2.7/5, though its viewership was down by roughly half-a-million to 4.22 million and its 18-49 numbers were down to a 1.7 rating. NBC's "Friday Night Lights" was fourth with a 2.5/4. The CW's new "13 - Fear Is Real" was fifth with a 0.6/1.

All ratings information comes from preliminary Fast National Nielsen data, which includes live and same-day DVR viewing. All numbers are subject to change.

TV Ratings: CBS repeats keep 'Dollhouse' down on Friday on Hitfix

....

9 pm
Dollhouse came in third behind a Flashpoint repeat (8.06 million viewers) and Supernanny (5.25 mil), dipping 10 percent from its premiere to 4.22 mil. That said, Dollhouse actually gained viewers over the hour. Friday Night Lights surged 14 percent to just under four mil.

Maybe "Dollhouse's" ratings on Hulu and the other internet sites will at least give Joss the ammunition to talk the Fox PTB to give it a better night. We can hope, anyhow.

neh i think Friday is the best night for this show. 4.2 is still good for a new show on a friday. Theres less pressure on friday so were more likely to get a few seasons

Just a shame that the only show to survive more than one season in the timeslot Fox have given Dollhouse is "X-Files" -- everything else in that slot has crashed and burned.
While the Boards were down last night I already looked up the ratings and researched a little around them. Now, from what I've read it's pretty normal for the ratings of a new show to drop slightly in it's 2nd episode. So this is not really too bad yet, is it?

But I do have to say, I'm still very scared they might decide to cancel Dollhouse. It's only been 2 weeks and already I'm so in love with this show, seriously, if they cancel it...

I can't say that "I'm in love with the show" just yet. But the 2nd eppy was WAY better than the pilot, IMHO. I don't think a show can really get such a huge fanbase until it's been on at least 6 eppys anyway... esp a show on a FRIDAY night. But I did immensely enjoy eppy 2. I loved seeing ED kick ass - partially why I loved her so much as Faith in BtVS/Angel. She's my favorite girl crush. 😉 😀

I think the Sarah Connor Chronicals would get cancelled first before they did Dollhouse. As long as Dollhouse keeps improving over SCC, I dont think we have anything to worry about.

See, I think you're wrong.

I don't think SCC will be cancelled just yet because the whole franchise is about to get a whole jump start which, conceivably (and something I am sure that the network has considered) could turn people onto the show itself.

Terminator: Salvation is tipped to be one of the biggest hits of the year and that comes out in May.

I dont think it will be cancelled, I think it would get canned before Dollhouse (at this moment). They arent going to cancel a show that gains more viewers than the lead in.

I'm just saying you should take TSCC out of the equation completely because it is obviously going to be linked to one of the biggest movies this year.

Probably why its still on.

Nielsen Ratings for Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles all but ensure it won't be renewed

...is an interesting article and it does cover the fact the the new Terminator flick is coming out.

The problem lies in the fact that the numbers arn't just low, their really low. Like 1.something million, so even with a big boost, their still struggling to reach even the numbers of 'Dollhouse' which arn't that great either.

Why TSCC is failing is anyones guess. Imo, its an awesome show, on of favorite on TV right now. FOX's initial advertising campaign was awesome (6 months in advance) though recently its been pretty non-existant. I think FOX notices a downfall in viewing numbers and instead of advertising more, they try to pull back and see what happens. Maybe its the show, maybe its network...either way its a sinking ship.

If Terminator's ratings were 1.something FOX wouldn't hesitate to take it off. It's was averaging 4-5 million the first half of its second season, and is 3.something now I believe. But ratings went up from its first Friday airing.

Kevin Reilly has admitted I think that he doesn't even like SCC, so it's a bit surprising they gave it its back nine order. But unless ratings continue to inch upward I don't think it has a chance at renewal, I really don't care if a new movie is coming out or not. But if FOX renews SCC I think they'd renew Dollhouse in order to give its sci-fi Friday a second chance.

cheers for the update
1.03 "Stage Fright" Ratings

Original episodes of "Ghost Whisperer," "Flashpoint" and "Numb3rs" helped CBS dominated the Friday ratings race, as FOX's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" and "Dollhouse" continued not to find traction.

Among adults 18-49, CBS averaged a 2.2 rating for the night, beating ABC's 1.7 rating. NBC and FOX tied for third in the key demographic, doing a 1.4 rating. The CW trailed with a 0.5 rating.

Overall, CBS averaged an estimated 10.12 million viewers and a 6.4 rating/11 share, far ahead of the 3.8/7 for ABC. NBC's 3.0/5 took third, nipping the 2.6/5 for FOX. The CW's 0.9/2 was fifth.

CBS' "Ghost Whisperer" did a 7.2/13 in the 8 p.m. hour, the night's most watched show by a wide margin. ABC's "Wife Swap" was second with a 3.1/5. NBC's "Howie Do It" was third, beating the 2.2/4 for "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" on FOX. The CW's "Everybody Hates Chris" and "The Game" took fifth.

At 9 p.m. CBS' "Flashpoint" had a 5.9/10. ABC's "Supernanny" was second, beating the 2.6/5 averaged by both "Friday Night Lights" on NBC and FOX's "Dollhouse." The CW's "13 - Fear Is Real" had a 0.8/1 for fifth.

CBS closed strong with a 6.1/11 for "Numb3rs." ABC's "20/20" had a 4.7/8, holding off "Dateline NBC in the 10 p.m. hour.

Hitfix

So, it looks like the ratings have gone a little further down. Though I picked up that almost every show, from all networks, was down a bit in their viewers this week. I'm not too worried about the ratings tho, well actually a tad bit I am..

This is not a good trend.

Next week the ratings will be higher because I'm going to call random people on the phone and yell at them to watch.

You are amusing, my dear. 😉

This makes me worried, but hopefully the Hulu numbers and iTunes downloads will make it go down.

*runs around in a panic* ahhhh this really has me worried! :'( *prays to every god going* I hope it goes up next week.

Maybe this thread should be renamed. 'Dollhouse: Ratings Watch' for example.

Third episode getting 4.13 looks pretty good, means there levelling off, if we start staying around there and possibly going up then its a good sign.

Agreed, so I changed the name!

Hopefully the ratings can level off.

Was the show advertised as 'from the creator of Buffy and Angel...' I think they would actually hurt the show more, this doesn't feel like a Joss show (Which I think is great) so hopefully more people will like it from word of mouth and after Season1 comes out on DVD.
