Dollhouse Ratings Watch!

This week's audience was up about 800,000 over last week's. Now that is a healthy rebound.

I think that's a given anyway. "Firefly" had much lower ratings than "Dollhouse" and got pulled after only 10 episodes were aired, yet the DVD set topped the charts and made enough money to greenlight a feature film. So I'm sure we'll see a Dollhouse DVD no matter what.

Predictions of Dollhouse getting crushed did not come to pass. The much-anticipated sixth episode finally arrived and performed similarly to last week when it had 4.3 million and a 1.6 rating with 18-49s. Last night it had 4.13 million and a 1.5/5 (rating/share) with adults 18-49. It doesn't look like either the basketball or the the Battlestar Galactica finale (and we probably won't see its numbers until Tuesday) had much of an impact on Dollhouse.

Wow, that's great news! I really expected this to be Dollhouse's worst yet since it was paired up with the BSG finale, but it was actually pretty consistent with the episodes that have aired the past few weeks.

Hopefully next week's will do even better, since people will probably see the greatness of episode 6 online/on their DVRs and feel compelled to stick around.
 
According to Marc Berman from Mediaweek, FOX recently arranged a phone conference with the press about Dollhouse, something he says means that they at least are actively thinking about a second season. I got this from Untitled Document, which is a forum he runs, in last night's ratings thread.
 
I suspect that because of BSG, the DVR and download numbers for this episode will be higher than usual. That means this might be the most-watched episode yet.
 
i admit i watched BSG last night instead and was thinking that this week might doom Dollhouse. THen i watched the ep on HUlU today and wow!!! good to know it didn't stumble too badly, hopefully this EP will propel it to a second season.
 
I can't imagine why this episode's ratings would be lower than last week's, considering there was no BSG finale up against it this time.

People outside the core Whedon fandom just aren't getting on board with this show.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that unless they move it to a viable timeslot, or Fox lets Joss and Eliza take this show to cable where it belongs, it's gonna be 13 episodes and done.
 
Ugh! I blame it all on stupid FOX and their stupid decision to air on Friday. I'm like 99% sure that if it had a better day with a better lead in (BONES!) ratings would be at least double what they are now.
 
Ugh, it's like yo-yo dieting! This erratic rating behavior has to stop! I cannot bear to lose another child.. I don't know if I'll make it this time. I mean after Tru Calling died, please - please just leave my room. 🙁

Nooo!! This isn't fair!!! It's a really good episode....urgh stupid STUPID americans...i'm sorry but they should all be tuning in and watching!! They're missing out...i'm angry now...poop..i hope they get a sudden boost in viewers...plleeeaaassee!!
 
If it gets it's season, and Joss has been smart enough to tie things up enough not to leave us completely hanging - unlike, say, Tru Calling, which was SO annoyingly incomplete - I'd be happy with that. I didn't think I would be, but if this comes out as one tight, complete season, and we get a DVD...I'd be happy.
 
I am SO into the show. if its done after this, its going to be like Firefly, where i buy the dvds but have a hard time watching them because it makes me so angry it didn't continue.

I had to catch up with the last two eps on DVR today because of my work schedule. I closed the past 2 friday nights which means i get OUT at 9, so i dont get home til 10 (eastern)....and was so busy with my schedule in general today was the only day to catch up. but it makes me feel bad i can't watch it the night of, it's like i want my 1 household to count haha.

Because Joss loves to clear everything into a neat little package and not leave things hanging.

The show hasn't been cancelled yet, so my 'I told you so' thread will have to wait for a bit longer, but it does seem like its coming!
 
If it gets canned I'm having my cable canceled. Most Reality TV bites danglers and no other TV shows are really worth watching to me.

Im not sure it will, i think Joss always writes with a view on a continued story line but even a slight conclusion and im happy.

One other show im watching (Life on Mars US) got canned early on allowing the writers to end the story and I actually view that as a good thing... its a great show and doesnt need season after season to tell its story.
