Dollhouse Ratings Watch!

"Dollhouse averaged a series low 2.99 million viewers"

We're gonna need a miracle to save it now!
I'm almost positive it'll get renewed...if only to save them getting 2.99million bags of nuts sent to their head office...or in this case barbie dolls

I suppose it could go both ways.
Personally, I have strange happy feelings about it.
But, they could be holding off to announce because they want it to be too late to change their mind when we riot at their doorstep with pitchforks and torches.
OR they want to keep us all on the edge of our seats and watching, instead of going out and getting a life for the next two weeks.
Not like I was planning on getting a life in the next two weeks, but you can never tell! (sw)

Didn't Season One of Buffy have pretty bad ratings, too?
I know, I know, I'm grabbing at straws.

Yes, but Buffy was on the WB network, which was only a "netlet" and was satisfied with much lower ratings than a big network like Fox.

"Prophecy Girl", the season 1 finale, had 2.8 million viewers... slightly less than last week's episode of Dollhouse.

Bleh.

Not again! The penultimate episode of Dollhouse dropped the series to another new low "” 1.1 preliminary adults 18-49 rating and 3.1 million viewers. Lead-in Prison Break was steady with its bottom-rung 1.0 rating and 3.2 million viewers

Weird that they're saying it's a new low. Or do they mean the ratings?

Anyway, it's definitely not good. 😛 In fact, it's still quite catastrophic.

It's a new low because the demo was really bad. :/
The network wants as many age 18-49 viewers ("the demo") as possible because they are the ones who tend to buy the products the show's sponsors are selling. So while it's good that the overall viewership was up, the fact that the demo was down means fewer of the people who are most valued by the sponsors watched.

It's really weird that the demo starts at 18. In Germany the main target group for everything is 14-49, which, in my opinion, is a smart choice. Between 15 and 17 I bought tons of DVDs! So I wonder if Dollhouse would do any better if that age group would also be pulled into the main demo.

I can't believe it. Everywhere I went it seemed the show was being pushed through everyone's nostrils and STILL only 2.8 mil?!

My heart has pretty much sunken to the depths I was afraid it would go if I invested much interest in the show and such a thing like this were to happen.

I'll go write my eulogy now.

I'm tellin' ya... direct-to-DVD movies are the way to keep this story going. It's worked very well for other genre shows, and if there's anything Joss excels at profit-wise, it's selling DVD's.

I wonder if Joss will be true to his word and ditch TV entirely when Dollhouse is officially done.
