Dollhouse Trailer

*dies of excitement*

I love it!

"This is going to be simply the most fascinating piece of television in the history of radio."

Also, the second trailer is still pretty poorly made. It was better than the first one, but still, not great (and the first one had much better music.) Times New Roman is better than Papyrus, but it's still pretty dang unprofessional. And they used that "Did I fall asleep?" clip twice again.

I just assumed that the "Did I fall asleep?" clip at the start and the end was to show how she keeps getting wiped, and it's happened so many times he doesn't bother coming up with a new response.

ooh! you're probably right.
Yeah, I also think the "Did I fall asleep?" line is in there twice because it's in there more than once on the actual show.

And I really hope that the title screen for the show is NOT the one with the double image of Eliza...it's interesting and all but I don't like it. There's another one that was used in one of the trailers that has "Dollhouse" in a simpler, more elegant looking font...hope they go with that one. 🙂 Just me being picky though.

yeah i agree
I just watched this. I'm all looking forward to the sneaky Buffy/Faith scene, and it's not there anymore. 🙁

I saw this show advertised in this week's In Touch Magazine. So, hopefully that will give it some extra exposure.

I'm not sure whether to be bummed or happily creeped that the "house" looks suspiciously similar to WR&H.

I'm a little underwhelmed, but trailers rarely do much for me. Honestly, I think I would be MORE psyched if there were more Buffy/Angel people in the trailer...even if my head knows they shouldn't all be in the show. Does that make sense? Probably not.

I'm still psyched. I didn't like the "thought" of Buffy, Angel or Firefly when I first heard them either. They seemed stupid. So, the less interesting the trailer is, the more I seem to be interested in the show.

I'm just a pile of contradictions.

You're female. I thought that contradiction was hard coded in.
I'm interested to see where it's going to go. I mean it could bottom out and get canceled like Tru Calling or it could last for years like Buffy. I'm on the fence because I don't really know that much about the sort of show it is going to be... but I love Eliza so she should make it fun to watch.

It's a little weird going into this as a Whedon fan. I obviously started watching Buffy without any real idea of what sort of show he made and even with Angel and Firefly I was still only on the edge of the Whedon fandom as far as online stuff was concerned. This is the first Whedon show that I'm going to start watching with an expectation of it's quality.

This trailer being released as early as this is certainly an interesting idea. Kinda risky in it's own way. I mean just from this thread I've seen a split between those that love it and those that are sort of "meh!" about what they have seen. The danger of course being that six months down the line when the show finally airs there will be a good amount of potential fans that have already decided they can't be bothered with checking it out.

I'm walking the line between the two groups a little, if I'm honest. The show looks like it could be great and the writers and actors involved have certainly earned enough respect from me to want it to be a success. I worry a little that the show's basic premise may not lend itself to Joss' particular comedy/drama writing style but then I wasn't sold on Firefly straight away so what do I know? 😉

Basically, the trailer looks good. Show has potential. Joss is great and Eliza is one of the hottest and most underrated young actresses on television at the moment. I'll be there for the first episode.

It looks amazing, now Im wicked excited for it.😛 Looks good but im gonna miss the vampires🙁

The trailer being released this early is nothing out of the ordinary, the trailers for midseason shows usually are released right after upfronts the same as fall shows, if the midseason shows are announced *at* upfronts.

First thing I thought of as well. Second thought was that it seemed disturbingly similar to Dark Angel, a show I was never particularly crazy about.

I think I've grown accustomed to Whedon being synonymous with new and radical. This felt neither, but again it's just a trailer so I'll wait with the judging until I've actually seen it.

How do you think this looks even remotely similar to Dark Angel? lol
(grumbles about the lack of editing buttons)

Well, its not looking as much as feeling. Genetical engineering mixed with that disguise element and all that jazz. Just triggers Dark Angel memories in my head.

Well I had avoided watching this because it's still such a long wait and I didn't want to get all excited and then have to wait but I loved the trailer looks like a very promising series.
