Anything positive or negative about the show... your opinion! -

As for me...

Negative: I don't give a ratsass for the name "Echo" - I think it's too "over the top". I'm glad her real name is "Caroline" (at least, that's what we think we know at this point!)

Positive: I love the way Echo seems so "childlike" in her "innocence" just after her memory is erased.

yeah, what kind of name is "Echo" anyway?
Positives: Amy Acker, both episodes pretty entertaining

Negatives: Not sure I care that much for the FBI guy so far, also lacking in Whedon humor for the most part.

Overall the pros outweigh the cons by quite a lot.

my sentiments, exactly. The FBI guy is starting to grow on me though.
Positives: Eliza's acting is good so far, the tech guy and minder (I forget the names). I love the shooting of the show it looks really good and fresh.

Negatives:FBI guy he annoys the hell out of me.

Good: Great action, tons of potential, really interesting mythology, the whole Handler/Active dynamic, Amy Acker, the Actives' childlike default state (mainly because I feel bad for them), a lot of mysteries, Topher.

Bad: Slight lack of Whedon-esque humor, still not 100% sure if Eliza has enough range for her role, Paul Ballard (which is a shame, because Tahmoh is damn fine), the pace (they often try to put way too much information in a small period of time.)

Yay - I love the idea of the dollhouse so far, there is so many potential storylines. I like the mystery too. So far I have been hooked and I cant really pinpoint why 😛

Nay - I think its moving a bit too fast, the Alpha story is already unfolding, I thought they might introduce the dollhouse and what it was all about before adding too much of a complication. This goes for Paul Ballard too, it seems a bit early in the series for them all the intertwine so much. But I understand that it has to get moving to hook people in. I've got alot of questions about the inactive state too but Im hoping that will be explained to some degree later on.

Yay.
. Boyd Langton.
. Claire Saunders.
. Laurence Dominic.
. The relationship between Langton and Echo.
. Alpha.

Nay.
. Echo, no emotional attachment, or investment in the character, because there is little back story, and the character she becomes, will be gone by the end of the episode.
. The DollHouse, ugly, cheap looking set.
. An average performance by Eliza Dushku.
. Topher Brink.
. Paul Ballard.
. Adelle DeWitt
. No humorous dialogue.
. Some very bad dialogue.
. The childlike Echo, after the memory wipe.
. The fact Echo is programed to have sex with some clients. Pretty disturbing.

YAY! Well I have a lot and will address those at a more reasonable hour.
NAYS! All the sex. I mean really? In two episodes that have aired there's been prostitution. Is that really necessary?

Yay: I love how when Echo's memory gets wiped you see it happening kind of!

Nay: The humor i want a few laughs!

Something that bugs me a little and seems to bug others too is how "rushed" the story seems. The Alpha thing and the FBI investigation. It feels like that could have waited a few episodes. But I wonder how much of that is because of the episodes being aired in the "wrong" order. Because they still are right? Not sure how much that messes things up. Maybe not much at all. But if someone knows which order they are aired compared to how it was planned I'd be thankful if you post it.

I'm pretty sure, and don't hold me to this, that the pilot was actually meant to be the second episode. And in the recent episode the flashback scenes were meant to be the main part of the original pilot. Although FOX didn't like this episode for a pilot so Joss had to change it....i think that's right.

List of Dollhouse episodes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Agent Ballard gets new wind in his investigation of the Dollhouse when he receives a photo of Echo. Adelle and the handlers become nervous when the Actives begin to exhibit signs of self-awareness.[21]

Notes - This episode was originally intended to be the series pilot, but after test audiences found it "too confusing and dark", Joss Whedon decided to shoot a new pilot, "Ghost", to better introduce the story and characters to the viewing audience. It was originally reported that this episode was going to be aired second, after the new pilot, but when it proved impossible to salvage (even with reshoots), Whedon decided to shelve the episode completely.[22]

So what's all? I thought I heard that it was way "worse" than that. But thanks.
yays: I love the characters and the main lead doesn't bother the crap out of me like buffy/harry potter/angel/jack doe
Topher and Boyd's deep man love
amy acker
how childish the dolls are, i love them, i just wanna reach out and give them a hug
Topher's nerdyness

Nays: that Russian gangster dude and all his hot chicks
and the fact that the dollhouse is HUGE how as no one found it?

Yays: Joss on TV again. Interesting premise. Very intriguing concepts and implications. Diverse palette of characters.

Nays: Seemed too rushed. Too desperate to cram so much in with the intent to, apparently, please the impatient, pea-brained network suits.

Yays.... I love Eliza Dushku! I think she's showing sides of her acting she never had on Angel/Buffy or Tru Calling.
Her nerdy worshiper reminds me of Andrew on Buffy! Maybe we're in for some Joss humor yet! haha Hmmm...can't think of much else. Sexy sexy so far. Who can say there's too much gettin it on?!!!
Nays....when are we going to start caring about Echo? She's just a machine at this point. She's got to start retaining things one of these days. And what the heck is going on? Somebody said it seems like we're starting the show a season late....you have to build up the questions. Right now it's like we're already supposed to know too much....but I don't.
