The trailer doesn't interest me at all.

Seriously, its like this movie just took the first film and raped it silly to make this pointless money making sequel.

No. Not a chance. Donnie Darko is a movie that should stay untouched. This looks like a cheap cash in. And doesn't even seem to have the same atmosphere as the original. I'll give it a miss.

I've been out of the loop on movies for some time now. Who's involved with this one? Any name attached to it that would give fans of the original a reason to think it'd be good?

Hmm. Donnie Darko is one of my favorites, a real cult classic. I'd hate to see them butcher it. Although, I am interested in Samantha's story... It could be interesting. And it has that hot dude from Gossip Girl in it.

Reminds me of the awful "sequel" to The Lost boys I attempted to watch the other day...

Uggh, I tried to watch the lost boys sequal not long ago aswell *shudder*.
This film has been in my nightmares ever since it was announced, it looks awful.

None whatsoever. Richard Kelly & Co. have all but disowned it.

That said, I don't think Kelly is really living up to his own initial promise. Southland Tales?

His next movie is The Box, another scifi horror, this one based on a Matheson story. Cameron Diaz and James Marsden are not two names that exactly fill me with confidence. I'm going to have to go see it though, the score is being done by Win Butler, Régine Chassagne and Owen Pallett, and to be honest, their music could make the CCTV footage of a Carphone Warehouse watchable.

It's just a marketing scheme. It has: Jackson Rathbone, Daveigh Chase, Ed Westwick, Braina Evigan, and Elizabeth Berkley.

Honestly, Ed, what were you thinking?

Actually, if Ed's involved with this somehow now, it's sounding better.

Really? His acting is great, but honestly, the script and the movie is going to suck so much that no matter what actors they bring in, it will probably be terrible compared to the original.

Maybe having really low expectations will higher up the movie when we see it, but I highly doubt it.

I was kidding around, because you said Ed, what were you thinking and then EDmund Blackadder said, "I get paid for this." So I was saying if THAT Ed is involved with the movie, it's starting to sound good!

I would love to be a film star - in fact I would sell my immortal soul to be a film star (more for the money than the fame)...but I'm not that desperate!

It's a stupid idea to make a sequel out of a movie that was self-contained, and this cheapens it by trying to expand upon it when that was never the original intention.

But I'm sure I'll rent out of curiousity.
