I stumbled across this photo last week and was completely awestruck. The powder room in the penthouse of this 1970s Mexican colonial-style building features a glass-bottomed floor over an abandoned 15-story elevator shaft!

Designed by Guadalajara-based studio Hernandez Silva Arquitectos, the Penthouse is located in Guadalajara, Jalisco, México. The original design of the building included a second elevator which was never installed, and there came the idea for the glass-bottomed bathroom.

See more photos of the powder room and the rest of the Penthouse at Home DSGN. What do you think? Any takers?

Haha I saw this on Facebook too! I was impressed and scared too! I don't think I could go to toilett there! 😀

Yeahhhh, I saw this pic a few days ago. No way, no how. I'm not even really afraid of heights but...yeesh...That'd just be creepy. I'd be more nervous than Xander having to pee while all those Initiative guys watched 😛

What? Xander peed in front of the Initiative? A Restless scene I've forgotten?
This is pretty cool. I'd like to stay there 🙂 When I was in Australia last month I went on the Eureka Sky Tower, which was apparently the tallest building in the southern hemisphere. I went on "the edge" which is a box that goes out of the side of the 88th floor, and it has a glass floor. It was kinda scary:

I was just about to post the sky tower floor :D
Haha, if you're gonna have a glass floor at least have a nice view underneath it 🙂

I can understand the Sky Tower, but who wants to look down an elevator shaft every time they pee? 😛
