I was watching season six today on FX and was getting all excited for spike to say to Giles "did your whole life flash before you.....cup of tea, cup of tea, almost got shagged, cup of tea" and they cut most of it out!!!!!!!
I dont know about everyone else but if soemone is old enough to watch the show and understand it then they can understand the word 'shagged' and therefore i am angry that FX cut it =(

What other quotes have you all noticed FX and other channels cut out of Buffy that dissappionted you?

In "Who Are You" near the end when Faith is punching herself(Buffy) in the face, when she said You're nothing! Disgusting! Murderous bitch! You're nothing! You're disgusting! they cut most of that out. And they cut Dark Willow skinning Warren alive out as well. And they cut part of "The Body" out as well. I'll probably remember more later. It's annoying cause I still haven't seen certain episodes and I don't know whether they're cutting parts of it out when I'm watching it on FX.

Isn't FX a cable network? That would mean they probably cut those things out for time constraints. I might be wrong, though...if Buffy has an earlier time slot, they might need to censor some things.

i think that is why they do it but its just a bit upsetting when your waiting for a good quote and its cut =(

I don't think it has to do with censoring...because in OMWF, they cut out Anya's "Oh my god, did it sing?" after Dawn comes running through the door.

Also in The Gift, when Xander says "Smart Chicks are so hot", they cut out Willow's "You couldn't have figured that out in 10th grade?"

Both of which don't need to be censored....so I think it's just because of time and commercials.

In The Zeppo, after Cordelia first goes on about how useless Xander is, they cut out the line, "There was no part of that, that wasn't fun." I like that line so I was upset when I saw it was cut. Now I just watch the DVD so... *shrug*

when i first saw omwf, i cant remember which network i was watching it on, but they cut a lot of it! almost definitely for time, as that was a particularly long episode, and the parts they cut didnt need to be censored. lets see, there was the scene above that true vengeance mentions, the exchange about xander having to be sweet's queen, and i dont even remember what else. i think they might have even cut that intro before buffy starts her song!

also, it bothered me when they skipped holiday episodes, or inserted a specific holiday episode on a holiday. i mean, if you've seen the whole series, thats great, but there were times when i had yet to finish the series, and i was watching certain season, and then the network would take out an episode because it was holiday-oriented. i would have to guess at what i missed, and it was annyoing.

im just glad i have the dvds now 😀.

I believe they cut a lot of OMWF because it's an extra long episode. It went on for more than an hour, the first time it aired.

yes dvds are deffo better, you can watch whatever episode you like without ahving anything cut =D

To along with that, yes, there are two versions of the episode. One is the full-length episode that aired ONCE in the US, which was it's first airing on UPN.

The second is the syndicated episode, which cuts most out to fit an hour of programming. It cuts out some of "I've Got a Theory (including Buffy's "What Does it Matter?"), Dawn's ballet scene, and dialogue.

yay! that means we have the uncut version *happy with German TV, seldom as that happens ;) *
yeah i am very glad that i go to see the full version first time around. Although i don't think i ahve seen a cut version of omwf but then again i tend to watch dvds more than tv.

sky showed the full omwf didnt they so i aint seen cuts on that..... i remember on all but one showing of bargaining did they have the apple pie anya line in

on the bbc the first showing always had cuts and the second showing on the friday night didnt, wondered if any other brits noticed that

When FX was showing season 4 they missed "Hush" out completely which is one of my fave episodes. And "Where The Wild Things Are" which I still haven't seen.

HUH? WHAT? HUH?

how can they simply miss out 'hush' i mean any episode really but HUSH!!!!!???????

I have no idea why they missed out Hush. It was a brilliant episode.

yeah, i mean, of all the episodes?! it makes no sense! :O
That's weird. I mean, I have the DVDs & so I watch those, but FX cutting stuff out? That's just.... stupid. Makes no good sense attall. The original FX shows (Nip/Tuck, Rescue Me, The Shield, etc.) have more cursing & violence & sex than any Buffy/Angel ever did!

And I used to always dream how much BETTER Buffy/Angel could have been if they had been FX shows.... (not that it was fantastic on its own!!!!)

Hmm...Buffy with an extra dose of naugh-tay? I like the sound of that!
Oh, I hate that, and waiting until six in the morning to watch an episode also got me. So, thank goodness for DVDs!!😀
