Its always a laugh to me when the scientist say the world is ending, everyone changes their light bulbs and shopping bags, but when I wana celebrate Armageddon, its labeled "crazy religious freak" . Bring it on. Covid let me down. Everything is back to the same as it was before, which was boring and crap.

Is it still changed or was it just a change for a little bit? Some of the tech changes just needed an excuse really.

I was mostly on self sufficient and gardening forums over the time. Mostly US people. Some were SURE that the gov was gona raid their gardens for food and were loading up on bullets. They were expecting to have to use their bunkers and choosing who they would let in. It was all a bit bizarre from where I sat, behind closed borders in a sort of cashed up and meth-free utopia.

Oh yeah, it's still changed. The number of businesses that closed and/or are closing as a result of it. And it fundamentally changed people as well. Employment, how and where people work, etc. It's like a completely different world now.

And was the world ending? Well, it nearly did end last night. A meteor about the size of a London bus was only 2200 miles away from earth. Was it an E.L.E. though?

Honestly the way we are killing the planet, a mass extinction event would just be the Earth trying to save itself at this point.

Lol that second one is nothing new. People have been afraid of the government for centuries, and preppers were so popular at one point that they had an actual show (on the History “but not really” Channel) about it.

As far as COVID, it has absolutely changed things. I think a lot of it is the fear of resurgence, so many places still have employees wear masks and medical facilities require them too. Raised prices have, unsurprisingly, stayed high.

The biggest negative from COVID, personally, is the news talks about it daily. You see these talking heads (maskless might I add) telling you why you should be afraid and prepared to probably die from COVID tomorrow. It’s extremely negative for mental health and is extremely reductive towards the work that has been done to prevent and protect against COVID.

Pretty much back to normal here, a few people still working from home, jobs that they've discovered don't need people in the office all the time, but other than a few delays in supplies, which is brexit as much as covid its all normal. Prices high, but it's a mix of issues rather than just one thing.

Oh it's a mix of issues here too, just the mix of issues all happened and came about because of the covid. All a byproduct of it.

I agree covid pushed things a long a bit but in terms of workplaces and tech, some changes were coming regardless. The high prices are not gona come down here cos working people have money to burn, and they are. Literally, travelling on jets all over the place haha. Money is one of the few unlimited things on earth, its just all going into the same hands from different sources worldwide.

One of those TV doomsday preppers was absolutely correct about a virus and I wonder how her family got on during it. I only left the forums after they started going on about freeing Australia cos we didnt have guns to fight the government (we do have guns, we just dont have the same distrust of government ingrained into our imaginations)

My understanding is that it is related to the amount of nuclear armaments present in the world and how many different countries have them. The way to significantly move it would be to create alliances and unify the world.

Whats the difference between nuclear and radioactive material? They're dropping radioactive material off the back of trucks. Yeah... "Fell off the back of a truck". So we dont really know whos hands this sort of stuff is in anyway. There are mines everywhere around here with uranium. Not to mention the nuclear bomb testing sites which are still radioactive lol. Maybe we will be exposed to so much soon that we will become immune 😂

The missing capsule is 6mm by 8mm.
It was on a truck from Mount Newman to Perth, it was stored in 5 or 6 depots in and around Perth WA before it was found to be missing.
The Fire and Emergency authorities say only certain populated areas will be checked but over a thousand kilometers of unpopulated areas will not be checked. Sounds like Western Australia needs a quality authority that actually cares about areas populated by ten or twenty people in this part of the country.
The indigenous people live in small settlements in various places.

You will have snakes that glow in the dark. According to Wikipedia, Mount Newman is 1186 km from Perth. You want to go looking for a 6 mm by 8 mm item along there? And all screws missing on the container where it was held? The authorities should look at the dark web to see where it is being sold. Sounds like an inside job.
