Doomsday Deck

Doomsday Deck is written by Diana G Gallagher and is set in the third season of Buffy.

I liked this book. I'm interested in Tarot readings and the cards, plus Kali is an all powerful Chaos Goddess and I loved how she was brought into this book. It was good how the writer showed Xander's need for a supernatural ability. I thought that was very true to his character. Anya and Giles bickering during the fight and Anya's blunt obsession with Xander was typical also. It was a good read.

I read this book after seeing only one episode of Buffy, so this is actually what got me into the show, I love it 🙂

Yeah, I enjoyed this one. It was a nice, light and fun read. I think Diana always gets the characters down perfectly when she writes a Buffy book to the point where you can hear the characters say the lines.
I think she's watched the show enough to be able to catch, and therefore write, the undertones of the relationships between them all. And I just love Anya in this one. She has got that simple 'Myself is important. Xander could also be important' outlook on life that was typically season three Anya.

Now I may be accidentally mixing this with another one, but since it involves tarots I'm gonna guess I'm right; this is the one where Xander gets stuck in some tarot world and becomes a zombie on the outside right? And the Scoobies were like 'sit. Walk forward. Turn left'. Kind of like SatNav Xander Style. haha

Yeah, that's the one. Xander was Death, Oz was the Devil Tarot card and Willow was the Tower card.
