Doug Petrie leaves Lost in Space Project

Doug Petrie wrote such Buffy episode as Bad Girls, This Year's Girl, Fool for Love, Two to Go and Beneath You. He also wrote 2 Tru Calling episodes and the Harriet the Spy movie Michelle Trachtenberg was in.

Also, Tufeld mentioned that writer Doug Petrie is no longer with the "Lost In Space" project. Petrie apparently wanted to take the new series as far away as the original as possible, which created "artistic differences" between him and Burns, resulting in Petrie's departure.

Note: The LIP pilot has been bought by the WB.

I think Burns would have been wise to listen to Petrie.

If you check out Burns' credits Kevin Burns Credits you can't help noticing Burns experience seems to be in making Fanboy filmographies, and biographies. (It's interesting. He made the A&E Filmography of Buffy the Vampire Slayer).

I think getting fired from the project was a good career move for Doug. I think the series is going to stink. That's never a bad bet, when you're talking about a WB project.
