Doyle & Cordelia Appreciation: "Too bad we'll never know..."

I really loved how in Sense and Sensitivity Doyle walks in, takes one look at Cordelia, and goes "Nice shoes. New?". 😀 It was so cute and funny. 🙂

^ That was adorable indeed 😀
I loved this part:

Cordy to Doyle: "What's her deal? Too much..(makes a drinking motion with her thumb pointing at her mouth)"
Doyle: "Thumb sucking?"
Cordy: "Alcohol! Dummy."
Doyle: "Don't look at me like that. I'm not the one that needs to brush up on their finger pantomime. (Sighs) It's something to do with the training she had at work."
Kate give the notice about the sensitivity training to Angel then gets up and walks over to Cordy and Doyle.
Kate in a singsong voice: "Some one's got a crush."
Doyle: "What?"
Kate to Cordy: "It's right there, how he feels about you. And you don't know what to do about it."
Cordy: "Please! We just joke around."
Kate: "Where is the truth? Where is the truth? He is hiding behind Mr. Humor. I mean, look at – look at Doyle.. really look at him, what do you see?"
Cordy: "A bad double-poly blend?"

Even Kate ships Coyle 😀

I loved Coyle! I wish they could have had longer! I think they made one of the cutest, and funniest, pairs ever!

Doyle was Cordelia's perfect match, much better fit than Angel. God I wanted these two together so bad, a shame Glenn Quinn lost his job because of this drug addiction

Aww, such a cute thread TCT 😉 I love Coyle, and I'm really sad they didn't got a chance. When Cordy starts treating someone as she did with Doyle and Xander, in that funny I-hate-you-but-you're-turning-me-on way, you know it's going to be super cute! Just we never got to see this one. It's kinda sad their best moment was moment before and after he died 🙁

I adore Coyle so much! When i first watched season 1 I was devastated that Doyle died and that they would never have their chance as a couple. It's ironic that Joss destroyed my other favorite couple in the same way... Anyway, it does kind of sadden me to think that had Coyle lived on, Cangel may never have come to be (the horror!). 🙁 But who knows, maybe Coyle could have been just as if not more epic. With all that said, we didn't really see enough of Coyle for me personally to consider them a true favorite couple, but I truly loved the moments they did have together. 🙂

Let me get this here resurrection glove on...

Alrighty.

Weird, because I've heard several, several times that Joss told Glenn right off the bat that Doyle wasn't going to be on the show very long and pretty much intended to kill him off from the beginning.

Shhhhhh. Remember, the official 'reason' was that both David and Glenn were 'too intense' to be paired and that Doyle's intensity was in competition with Angel's and they didn't want that since Angel was the main character. Despite the fact that Angel was not an intense character at that point. So, Joss wasn't really thinking when he made that excuse.

Favourite Coyle episode? (Not like there's many to chose from )

Favourite Coyle moment?

Favourite Coyle quote?

Funniest Coyle moment?

What episode made you fall in love with them?

Cordy and Doyle as friends or lovers? Why?

Actually? Birthday. I think it's the first time Cordelia really understands the depth of Doyle's feelings for her. Episodes they're both in? Lonely Hearts.

Asleep on the lounge in Lonely Hearts. Awwww.

The scene with Kate in Sense and Sensitivity. OMG the adorable!

...Lonely Hearts. Probably why the episode that isn't Corrupt gets so much love from me.

And...lovers. Cordelia was adorable with Xander and I think she deserved to find a guy who worshipped her and could get her pop culture references. And Doyle was completely smitten. And they would have been the most adorable thing to ever adorable.

By the way, Doyle was never intended to be killed off. He was brought on the show to be Angel's best friend. Wesley was only brought on because Glenn left the show. I love Wesley, but if forced to choose between the two...it would have been really interesting to see Doyle evolve as Wes did.

I actually heard something completely different. Doyle was always meant to be killed off (Joss even wanted it to be sooner), because he had an obssession of wanting to kill a character in the main credits early in the season to surprise fans. He was going to do this for Jesse in the beginning of Buffy season 1 but they did not have the budget, at the time, to put one character in the opening sequence for one episode. I heard that Glenn knew from the very beginning his character was only temporary and he had no objections to leaving.

I also heard the original plan for Season 4 was to bring Doyle back, but Glenn had already passed away. I think it would have been the most incredible thing to see Doyle come back and reunite with Angel

Tidbits like this always make me wish I had a time machine. Any time machine. DeLorean, phone booth, TARDIS, Sam Beckett, wormhole travelling through a solar flare...

Really, though, I would kill for that. I think they could have taken Cordelia in an entirely different direction, including CC's pregnancy, if they'd had Doyle...

I can dream.

Aaawww, I love Coyle SO SO much! They just had so much potential, and could have been great together. It may have been similar to Cordelia/Xander, but only about 100 times better, in my opinion. Glenn and Charisma had a fun, natural chemistry between them that really worked. Something about them just clicked for me. To answer the question, I think "Lonely Hearts" might be my favorite episode for them. It cracks me up when they go to Cordy's apartment, and Doyle says "you're disgusting" when he finds a dirty bowl. I don't know, I think it's the way he says it. And this has to be one of the cutest things ever:

Oh, and to answer the final question, I choose lovers, obviously. 🙂
