I don't think it's the browser. I think it's more a combination of a slow connection, and that crappy Hulu software they use. It won't cache more than a tiny amount of what's downloading. It's not like say YouTube where you can download the whole thing on pause, then watch it as many times as you want without downloading again, because the video is in your cache.
Um, anyways, what a great birthday present, Act II of this awesome show. I was just thinking this morning that I wanted to watch a musical, and what do I find when I come online... 😉
Okay, first thing I did when I got up? Grabbed breakfast and loaded up Act 2. Even more thrilling than the last one. NPH is just so fantastic at delivering these lines, though Nathan is brilliant at being an obnoxious hero. When he walked off screen only to walk back on a minute later 'The hammer is my penis'. It was just perfectly done.
And like some of you guys have said; the songs just got better too. Brand New Day was really power-driven and catchy. Can't wait for 19th...but I'm sort of dreading the 20th. You know, Disappearing like a Phantom Day?
Now i'm over my time zone grief I have to say that Act 2 is amazing.
I like it much more than act 1, DR.H's song at the end was brilliantly funny.
Also I think I relate to DR.H far too much, like to the degree where I need goggles and a blog. :: vampire I have a degree in horribleness.
My fav line from act 2 was 'I don't go to the gym i'm naturally like this', I have one of those physiques too, although for some reason I don't have the muscle of the corporate tool. hehe
This thing is just reminding me how effortlessly Joss jumps from screwball/wacky to genuine melancholy/longing. Turns on a dime. I miss Mutant Enemy shows on TV!
Brand New Day...can't decide if the cheesy synthesizers are starting to actually undercut the songs a little, or just add to the fun. Great song at any rate.
I am positively adoring Dr. Horrible and been playing and dancing to the songs all day. This show is clearly Joss's present to me as Act 1 came on my 1-year anniversary of watching "Welcome to the Hellmouth" in its entirety for the first time and Act 3 will be coming on my birthday 😀 Turning 21, peeps!
THAT WAS THE SINGLE WORST THING I HAVE EVER WATCHED.
I cannot believe it. The ending was absolutely awful. After
Dr. Horrible accidentally killed Penny
, I spent the rest of it just staring at the screen with my mouth wide open, expecting some miracle to happen. And at the end, when I just sang, "I won't feel a thing," I started crying. I watched through the credits, thinking, "THERE HAS TO BE MORE! NOOOOOO!" But nope. Instead, Joss decided to torture us, make us wish we hadn't loved it so much!
But really, it was beautifully tragic. Dr. Horrible got everything he ever wanted, and he was absolutely miserable because of it. And, as always, the music was great, although the first song in Act II is still my favorite.
Oh, and I almost forgot! Marti Noxon and David Fury are the newscasters! I did the dance of joy when I saw them.
I had the same reaction Crazy Flakes. I was so angry at Joss but then thinking about it the story was amazing! And David Bowie was a villian (hehe - Jed Whedon). Again the songs = great. This is just another example of how everything has a consequences, Dr. got everything he wanted and yet he still had nothing. I won't feeeeeeeeeeeel.... a thing!
What?! Well of course she dies, did I forget what I was watching? And I still didn't see it coming. 🙁 I loved it, but kinda bummed me out, and I don't wanna be bummed out anymore then I was.. or say bummed out so much.
But I guess there's that other Whedon rule.. those that die are doomed to return.. probably, maybe.
Awesome job Horrible team, watched all the credits, waiting for Penny to pop up or something, but had the ME monster instead.. which is honestly almost as good 😉
Oh and big smile to see David and Marti!
Posted that on whedonesque, and bloody hell people there are sensitive to any comments that aren't love and puppies.
Finally went and watched it, blew my download thingo on my computer so its guna cost me a fortune but I loved it! Especially the last ep... It was my fave. Thanks BB for letting me know it existed!
wow, that didn't turned out as I had expected.
Maybe I should have tho...
It went from very lighthearted to really dark and tragic.
It was a great show, loved all acts.
Think the first one is still my favorite. Probably because I didn't know what it all was about and I did get blown away by it.
Overall I must say that it was much more high budget and better quality than I thought it would be.
Joss delivered again.
