Anybody else been watching this show the last few weeks on SCI FI? It's pretty ****ing awesome. I <3 it. But what I dont 100% understand is where the hell is he exactly from. They hit at it, but never come out and say "hey my name is... and im from..."

I went to the spacecast awards site to vote for James Marsters in the best new character category, but Rose Tyler was running against Braniac, so I mean, c'mon, Rose Tyler - who else.

The Doctor is a Time Lord from Gallifrey 🙂

Here is the official BBC site - http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/ but you can pretty much find Whovian info anywhere on t'internet 😉 Like here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_who

I've just started watching the new Dr. Who on Sci-Fi and think it's great. But I'm upset that for season two - they've already changed actors for the doctor. 🙁 I liked Christopher Eccleston, I thought he made a great doctor.

As far as Eccleston goes, yes...simply because i understand him not wanting to be type casted...don't get me wrong, as a viewer i'd love more Eccleston:)
Actually this is one show you can't be upset about the changing of the characters because thats the nature of the Doc.
I absolutely LOVE Eccleston as the Doctor, he is my fave so far, however, Tennant, the new one i thought was excellent in the Christmas and Comic Relief specials.....

This is my fave show of the moment from the BBC.

Yes, the doctor does change - but did it have to be so soon? :)
Oh, I might have downloaded the episodes last year when the BBC was running it. 😛 I love Doctor Who. I'm so happy that it got picked up by Sci-Fi so people in the states can be introduced to it. Although Christopher was great, David Tennant is going to be slightly better, I think.

The doctor is from Gallifrey... but he got kicked out for treason because he interfered in the cousre of history... stole a tardis to escape... then he got exiled to earth but helped them stop an evil renegade time lord and so was allowed to wander again... and in the new doctor who it hints that he is responsible for the decision
that wiped all timelords and daleks from the fabric of the entire space-time continuum
... and it always goes on bout how
he's the last of his kind
... and it sucks how
just when he and rose knew they liked each other like that he died... 🙁

AHHH, I READ TO SPOILERS...AND AHH! DAMN ME DAMN ME TO HELL!
I put some spoiler tags in the above post as I don't think US viewers will have seen some of the events described yet 🙂

Thanks - Sci-Fi as only aired the first 3 episodes of the Eccelston's seaon. I think they're taking a chance on showing it on Friday night - in the US that's typically the dump time for networks - show whatever garbage you want cause no one's watching anyways. Seems to me that Sci-Fi may be infering that people who like Dr. Who won't be busy on Friday night. Or, that could just be me having an attack of the sensitives this week.

I'm downloading the episodes now.

You know what I didn't notice before?
Andrew mentions watching all the episodes of Doctor Who to Spike in Smashed.

Ok - i'm seriously on edge about this cliff hanger in Aliens from London... the interaction between the doctor and mickey just crack me up... that was a great episode...

You've got a great ride ahead :)
I alway thought that they showed things in America and England way before they did in Aus... And coz we here in aus have seen the whole first new season, and it was all in that, i thought that you would all have seen it too... Sorry all.

That's what I was thinking... I mean America and England always see everything or things are released months before they are in Australia... im suprised???

Well, I've seen Doctor who and live in the US (I downloaded it bawaha) I can't wait till series 2 starts! More so though, I can't wait till Torchwood starts! *huggles omnisexual time traveler*

Well i think this has more to do with it being a BBC funded show. This is a Brit show not American. I mean lets be honest, even we have to wait quite a while for some American shows......

ANYWAY, back to the show itself.

Did anyone catch the new Trailer of Dr Who season 2 thats starting to be shown now....i'm so excited...i really havent felt this much anticipation since, well Day 5 of 24, season 5 Smallville, or season 2 Desperate housewives, so not long really, but still!!!
