WillowFromBuffy:

The Monster
"I am going patrolling," Buffy said.

"You do realise," Xander said, "that one of the leeches you are supposed to be patrolling for is standing right behind you."

Buffy rolled her eyes, before heading out the door, nodding for Spike to follow her.

"You don't even flinch any more," Buffy said, once they were alone.

"What's that?" Spike asked.

"When they call you names," Buffy said. "It's like you don't even care."

Spike lit a cigarette between cupped hands, taking a deep drag. "You know ... stakes and stones can dust my bones, but the rabble is gonna babble." He shrugged. "They called me loads of things while you lay dead, luv."

"And none of it bothered you?" Buffy asked.

Spike stopped and looked at his boots. "There was one thing they said that kinda stung," he mumbled. "When they said we were teammates, and I knew they didn't mean it."

Buffy was about to speak, but Spike held up his hand. "Don't," he said. "Call me a monster. Call me a convenience. It is better that way."

Ethan Reigns:

REVENGE

Willow and Tara walked home through the park after sunset when a vampire accosted them. Suddenly, Spike ran across the field and plunged a stake into the vampire, dusting him. Tara put her arms around Spike and kissed him. Willow was shocked, saying, “Why did you do that?” Tara stammered, “He's one of our teammates fighting against evil,” but actually didn't know why she had kissed Spike.

From a distance, a smile slowly spread beneath a pair of binoculars.

“Three years in a Habitrail, Red. You could have freed me sooner. This is Amy and I'm your new nightmare.”

1980 New York

The Winter Olympics meant lots of people just waiting for Spike to come along and kill them. Easy pickings, he didn't even need to try and go out and hunt. All the hotels in the area were packed, you just had to find one to charm and they were more than willing to introduce you to their teammates. Spike could have a buffet of different flavours.

New York was really starting to grow on him, he'd managed to find and kill his second slayer here, now he was partying with international Olympians, not to mention the fun he had had at Woodstock.

It is, but I don't actually count what the word count is, as long as it's drabble like!

I found this one hard to do, mine got rewrote a few times, and I'm still not happy with it, but it's submitted anyway.

I have copied the first one above ("The Monster") into Open Office Writer and used the word count (which works the same way as the one in Word) and it came to 178 words. I like the writing and I gave it a vote but I believe the length is an unfair advantage.
