In the episode with Dracula in.......

Why is it he doesn't suffer "forehead from hell syndrome" He basically stayed as the traditional horror movie Vampyr, fangs only?

When they do flash backs in Vampyrs lives and near the end of the seasons even the ancient Vampyrs had "forehead from hell syndrome".

You ask me I'd rather see the vamped forehead like spike and angel etc get, they look the part more. Though Dracula seems to project the more romantic side of Vampyr life (if that's what you call it).

Anyway what do you guys think?

Unlike other vampires, Dracula slept in his native soil. That might have some influence in his lack of game face. Also, as Spike pointed out, he used "gypsy magic," or something of that nature to allow him to morph into other forms. Either or both of those things might explain his lack of facial features similar to other vampires, or possibly he is just a member of another, much more rare species of vampire, much like Oz and Nina were different species of werewolf. (Or maybe the writers just thought no one would question the inconsistencies)

I think white avenger makes a couple of good points. Especially the fact that we know Dracula makes use of "gypsy magic" could be used to fan-theorise any plot-holes into oblivion.

Is there anything in the Tales of the Vampires #3 story "Antique" that explains more about his "talents"? (I still haven't gotten it, shame on me, I know.)

Dracula is set to reappear in the "Wolves at the Gate" arc of Season 8, so we might find out more about his nature then, especially since the arc deals about vampires with special/unusual abilities.

I think it was mainly because he was shown to be the romantic swoony side of all things vampire. To have him bump out would have ruined the 'thrall' that he had over every woman that saw him.

And as Spike said about him using 'fancy gypsy stuff' I think perhaps our Count not only used the magic to turn into bats, mist etc but also to retain his human visage when he feeds. Kind of the vampire equivalent of an expensive make-over or facelift....haha. Trying to stay pretty no matter what. The vain thing. Haha

Admittedly not a look that appeals to *me*.... hehe. but in the vampire world who knows whats attractive? And the Buffster seemed to have no problem with the beaucoup de make-up. Hehe.

I'd vote for the 'gypsy magic' as well, using it as a glamor would probably be easy. Doesn't Willow say that she used magic to hide a spot, so someone like Dracula should be able to hide the marks on his forehead 🙂
