Right if you could make a band for one night to play the biggest concert ever who would you pick they can be alive or dead.

Here's mine

Singer - Kurt Cobain
Guitarist - Jimi Hendrix
Bassist - Flea
Drummer - Joey Jorridison or Dave Grohl (I cant decide)

Whats yours?

Oh, man, that's tough! Mostly because my favorite band members vary so much, if I meshed them all together, it would be pretty weird. In other words, I was going to have Dimebag be the guitarist and Freddie Mercury as the singer at first, and then I thought, "wait a minute...that wouldn't work."

But as for sounds that go together, here's mine:
Singer: Freddie Mercury.
Guitarists: David Gilmour and Steve Howe...I'm not sure who would do rhythm and who would do lead because they're both so amazing!
Bassist: Chris Squire.
Drummer: Neil Peart.
Keyboards (if they're in the band, that is!): Rick Wakeman.

Singer: Jon Anderson
Guitar: Steve Howe
Bass: Chris Squire
Drums: Neil Peart
Keyboards: Rick Wakeman

That's just Yes with Rush's drummer, I know, but they're my favorite band of all time!

Guitar and Vocals: Tom Waits
Piano: Duke Ellington
Bass: Les Claypool/Victor Wooten
French Horn: Zach Condon
Drummer: Ben Koller
Saxophone: John Coltrane
Marimba, Congo, Bass Drum, Tambourine, Loads of other stuff: Victor Feldman

I was about to choose Vic Wooten as my band's bassist, but I couldn't resist Chris Squire's unique Rickenbacker sound. John Coltrane is another very nice choice.
Vocals - Bruce DickInSon or James hetfield, Or Dave Mustaine
Guitarist - Kirk Hammett, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Gary Moore ( All these together)
Bassist - Cliff Burton(Rest In Peace), Or Jason Newsted if Cliff couldn't come from Heaven, OR Tom Araya
Drums - 80's Lars Ulrich or Dave Lombardo
Keyboardist - Janne Wirman or Jens Johansson

Nice drum pick with Lars

All three of your singers are amazing, as are your guitarists and bassists! But I've gotta disagree with Lars. He was alright in the '80s, but there are so many better drummers out there.
Well I´m only going to pick personal favourites and that has nothing to do with how "good" they are in comparision. They probably wouldn´t do that well together but I don´t care.

Vocals: Tarja Turunen
Guitar: John Petrucci
Bass: Jason Newstedt
Drums: Rick Allen (Well, an one-armed drummer is cool!)
Keyboards: Martin L. Gore

Ok these are my personal favourite musicians I don't believe for a second they wold make for a great band. Think of the music version of Real Madrid, all the quality, all the big names but not a team to be seen😀

Vocals: Chris Cornell. The man can saaaang not sing. His vocals are amazing.
Guitar: Hendrix. He is just untouchable. I mean have you heard Red house?
Drums: John Bonham (Zepplin). Needs no explanation.
Keyboards: Stevie Wonder. There are few people who can do what he does with a piano.

They are my pics but I could also argue that the perfect band already exists; Led Zepplin. They had the perfect pieces of the puzzle. Each member of the band was just as great as the other.

Oops, I accidentally posted my rep comment early...I just wanted to say that your band would be freakin' awesome!

LOL...I think they would be pretty nifty too...I mean can you imagine Cornells vocals over Hendrix's cords? WOW!

While I fully appreciate the 80s Thrash revival theme, Lars is an awful drummer. He even said so himself.

His drumming suited Metallica's music, but his drumming itself is infantile. He's not even the best drummer in Metallica, hahaha.

NO! Lars was good drummer during 80s, he started to suck after Black Album

Like James better do we? He never played drums in Europe. :( At least not then I watched them. ut that was a while ago to say the least. Thank god for vhs. Yes, Im that old. Or have I maybe misssed something?
My "dream band" is already a band. Nobody has ever outdone, or will ever outdo, PINK FLOYD. The music, the lyrics, the sound... it's so.... complete.

Singer: Ronnie James Dio
Guitar #1: Joe Perry
Guitar #2: John Frusciante
Bass and backing vocals: Lemmy
Drums: Terry Bozio

That's a band that would rock the **** out in my opinion.

Awesome, someone else saw that clip. Yeah, James was much better than Lars and Lars knew it.

Oh, yeah it´s in the "Live Shit: Binge & Purge"-box. At the time a given buy for me. They never used it in Europe since they thought "we" would think it´s boring! Stupid thinking.

Guitar and Vocals: Joe Strummer
Bass: Jean Jacques Burnel - I love his style so much, instantly recognisable
Keyboards: Dave Greenfield - I know, same band, but they are so talented!
Drums: Penny Rimbaud

Pink Floyd is amazing. The only band I think has outdone them is Yes, but they're my favorite band ever, so...

Vocals, Guitars - James Hetfield
Guitars - Kirk Hammett
Bass - Cliff Burton (Rest In Peace)
Drums - Lars Ulrich

That's just the old Metallica lineup, but I can't say I can blame you for choosing them. Cliff Burton is truly one of the greatest bassists of all time (RIP 🙁 ), and Kirk Hammett is freakin' amazing. But, as much as I love James Hetfield, I definitely think Bruce Dickinson is the best metal vocalist ever.

I'm surprised no one has used any of The Beatles yet! They're the most inspirational band of all time!

Well, Paul McCartney's and John Lennon's solo careers aren't great, Ringo doesn't have one and I guess George Harrison produced the best material and his wasn't noteworthy.

The Beatles were amazing when they were together. When separated, they seemed to meander around. However, I am firm in the belief that very few albums will ever come close to touching Sgt Pepper.

Ringo has a solo career...granted, it's not very good, but he has one. I suppose you're right about them being at their best together, but Paul McCartney's still a very good bassist without the other Beatles backing him up.
