A lot of you know that I'm studying to be a counselor. Part of my unit is dream interpretation and it's something I'm not overly good at yet.
Be my test dummies! (rather than me trawling through websites of people's dreams which tend to be quite brief and is hard to make an analysis) Also this gives me the illusion that I'm not procrastinating that much on here and will actually help me practice.

2 Rules:
1. Tell me your dream in as much detail as possible- location, colours, people, etc
2. What happened in the day previous, or at least context of.

Let me give you an example of my own dream from a few nights ago, which was a Spuffy dream.

I recall being at some markets which seemed quite similar to where I grew up in as a kid, quite a country side place. I was having trouble talking while ordering some food (I'm stutterer, my mannerisms are very much like Tara's) and the woman in the food van was being incredibly rude. I remember feeling hurt and angry but unable to say anything because of the speech impediment. Buffy comes along and pretty much reams her, she's accompanied by Spike who wanders behind. Buffy ends up buying me some food and is happy to make friends.
Spike ends up running off to go rescue a horse (?? What the hell goes on in my head?) that has gotten free from the crowded markets and gallops off into the fields. Buffy is hesitates to follow.

The context for the previous day: A girl who I was supposed to go on a date with that night had bailed. She had also picked up on my stutter in a phone call the first time we talked (Which she must be pretty damn observant because no one really notices it when it's so mild) I also finished off a uni assessment that day.

My interpretation: As a child, I was a loner. So with the setting of my old home town and initially being alone at the markets represents my loneliness that I experienced as a child. Buffy represents this girl who I was supposed to see- the girl is bisexual, so when Buffy hesitates to either stay with my dream self or run off with Spike, it's the fear that if I dated this girl, would she actually stay with me or miss men too much (she's explicated said that she prefers men over women). My stutter is something I'm self conscious of so quite a clear fear that's popping up in dream manifest there.
So basically, I can't decide to pursue this girl as a romantic interest or simply friendship.

Dreams are basically hiding an wish or desire and sometimes fear.

So hit me! Let me practice 😛

Ohhh this is so cool! I love dream interpretation stuff. So I have one weird one for you, not really specific details, but it's a recurring dream that I always have so maybe you can clear some things up for me 😛

So first off I don't have dreams, I just have nightmares. But that's beside the point haha. But one recurring theme in my nightmares is dirty bathrooms. I'm not kidding, that one always comes back in my dream. And often I'll just end up in those dirty bathroom even if I don't have to be in a bathroom, like they just randomly pop up, even when they are totally unrelated to what is currently happening in the dream. And I mean those things are dirty as in silent hill, rusty, falling apart, underworld dirty. And often there are no stalls or walls, it's just a big open space. Do I just have a crazy fear of bathrooms? lol

Can I ask a really self-involved question? I never remember my dreams, or maybe just one a year if that. Does that mean something in itself? Do lots of people just not remember their dreams?

What is your take on snakes?

Re-occuring dream was snakes at my work, snakes who wouldnt move, and threatened me if I tried to pass to get to the horses. This image/short take of snakes in my path pops up in various other dreams. Its evolved now that I will see snakes but not feel threatened by them. Instead just take another path.

At that time I had a boss whos business was failing and blamed it all on her employees, i was not the only one with issues, she lost everything except the house I lived in (which she didnt own), and then kicked me out of that too.

I also have re-occuring snippets of trying to scream and never having sound come out, feeling breathless but cannot make a sound. This is obvs usually in a hospital setting for me, but many times in other dreams being unable to vocalise has caused great distress.

Side lols - my stepdad (when I was a child) had a severe stutter. He was also from the US. I assumed until I grew, that all americans had a stutter unless they were on tv.

I'm sure the cause of my dreams are because I spend too much time on this place, it's almost literally the last thing I do at night. 😛

You can try and interpret these if you like.

1. Puppet Spike's head in a box, trying to negotiate with Buffy not to push him out a window.

2. Buffy, Xander and Willow have to read individual speeches, written by Snyder, on stage in front of him. When they get to a certain part, they look pointedly at him. When they've finished, they come off-stage and find Spike, who was in charge of lighting, making out with Amy Farrah Fowler from The Big Bang Theory.

3. Spike is in a pub drinking a pint, he has an unconscious Drusilla with him and is waiting for her to wake up. He has to leave because the Authorities are on their way so he carries Drusilla out so they don't get caught.

4. This one is kind of in 3 parts:

a) Buffy is racing through an urban town because she needs to get home and sign for a package. She has five minutes before the package is due. She's racing down stairwells and climbing over walls as a shortcut. She ends up in a pub, first with a Shetland pony stood on the bar, then that pony turns into someone dressed as a pony and some of the other pub goers are dressed as ponies.

b) Willow is running through a shopping centre to try and get home before the package arrives and as she passes the shops and streets, everything goes magically clean. She runs through a field with a parked caravan, as she passes the caravan get a cow print makeover.

c) Spike is at Tesco and he needs to get home for the package so he tries to steal a state of the art motorhome, only he gets it stuck in the mud, so he finds a child's bicycle helmet and tries to use it unsucessfully as a ramp.

Ok, here's my dream from last night (from what I can remember)

I'm standing on a beach in New Zealand and there's like a lagoon in front of me with clear blue water - basically a perfect holiday location. I climb the rocks behind the beach to a little holiday home, which is like a white wooden shack which overlooks the sea. I'm staying there with my dad. I watch from the holiday home as the waves roll in on the beach below, it's all idyllic.

Suddenly a storm comes in and I watch the beach get flooded and I worry the water will reach the holiday home, but my dad tells me not to worry because we're 100ft up and there's no way the water will reach us, but the waves get higher and higher and a tsunami hits and all of a sudden the water is lapping at the steps to the holiday home and we can get any higher up the mountain so we're trapped. 😳

That part finishes before we drown and then I'm on the boards and we've had an influx of spam accounts and I can't delete them quickly enough before new ones appear. Its like a spam invasion and I'm overwhelmed by it. And then I wake up.

Answers to this crazy dream sequence on a postcard 😉 Or PM if it means I'm mental 😛

haha the true question though is what's scarier? Drowning, or a spam attack

I do remember something in a lecture about this... But I can't recall what 😛
Do you generally get anxious or have a lot of worries?

I hate snakes. That's my take 😛

But yeah, nah, I'm thinking that the snake represented your boss. I recall you saying that you're Catholic, so assuming snake=bad because of the shit that went down in the garden of Eden. So it would be something along the lines of fear of not being able to work there due to your boss, and of course you eventually left and took another path in life. When you dream of snakes these days, is there anything you've been dealing with that's been quite serious- like you've had a choice to make?

@DeadlyDuo , I need waaaayyyy more info on all those dreams. That's too vague for me to figure out! Also context of what was going on in your life is needed, otherwise I'm stabbing in the dark here.

@Athena , gunna PM you not because you're crazy but because I'm gunna need more details about your life. But I've got a theory *bursts into song*

Priceless
Priceless
Well now I'm worried and anxious :-)
@Blair I can't remember what was going on in my life when I had those dreams. It was nothing major, just normal day to day routine. Maybe my mind was just having a laugh and just threw all this random stuff together and went "that'll do".

Alright, just to mess with you then 😛

1. Puppet Spike's head in a box, trying to negotiate with Buffy not to push him out a window.

2. Buffy, Xander and Willow have to read individual speeches, written by Snyder, on stage in front of him. When they get to a certain part, they look pointedly at him. 1. Alright, I don't know your sexual orientation but I'm gunna say that you're struggling with your sexuality and in the process of not liking men.

2.No idea, so telling you what I usually tell my other friends when they give me a weird dream to interpret- you're desiring sex.

3. See 2.

4. Okay, there's something special about the package here, so going to ask- do you recall if you were dating anyone at the time?

@Blair No to 1. I do like men and consider myself heterosexual.

2 and 3 perhaps do have some accuracy to them. 😛

4. No to 4. I was single. The package could just be about waiting for the post. I'm more interested in the people dressed as ponies and what that means (though thinking about it, maybe it has something to do with Faith's "I could ride you at a gallop" line? I'm on here quite a lot so I could've seen that written during discussion) also what's with Willow's magic cleaning power and the cow print caravan and Spike trying to use a child's bicycle helmet to get the tyre out of the mud? None of them got to the package because the alarm went off and woke me up.

There's a hell of a lot going on dream number four, but as I mentioned, I need way more context about your life in order to actually get to it. Stating the dream is only half the equation, you know?
Like with @Blaze's dream, after a few questions I ended up kinda hitting the nail on the head with it, but to get there a lot of details are needed, especially because I'm a noob at this haha.
Were you interested in anyone at the time? Also how old were you in these dreams? Did you make a cameo?

Also, apologies for assuming you're gay in your first dream 😛

You really did hit the nail on the head, it's really interesting! Especially cause I've been having those dreams forever and no one has ever been able to give me an answer that actually make sense 😀...til now!

I generally don't tend to appear in my own dreams and I didn't in these. I can't remember if I was interested in someone or not at the time, though I did start going on nights out more than I used to if that is of any relevance?

Honestly, I have no idea.
I think the Spike and mud part is trying to resemble some difficulties you may have gone through, like with the child's helmet, I'm thinking maybe something to do with your family?

Or this could just be a complete Cheese Guy dream.

Probably a cheese guy dream.
