Okay...
I have had this horrid dream about three times over the last month and it scares the living crap out of me.

Basically im in a house with my friend, and theres a dog. To me this dog is pure evil... Red glowing eyes and everything, and at every chance it attacks me. My friend cannot see what i see but i see it clearly and it scares me to death because no matter how hard i try it keeps attcking and she doesn't help me. It always ends
and i wake up just as it gets Oober evil and goes to bite me...

I was wondering what it means?

I thought maybe trust issues but i am not sure.

Anyway, this thread could be to post your dreams and maybe we can all try to see whats behind them or if they mean anything (which i beleive dreams do). And also maybe just get some stuff out in the open... like what was a great dream and the worse sort of thing.

I keep having dreams where I'm running away from stuff. It's always something different, but there's always this edge of panic, even if what's chasing me is STUPID and not remotely scary.

I think it's stress.

do you copy my dreams? :P first the perspective, now the running. hehe, id say we have one dream-mind almost! :)
Maybe your trying to run away from something which is in your life at the moment. It could be a job, a person, a situation...
Or maybe you are trying to find a new direction and something in your life is not what you want.
I think i heard somewhere as well that running could signify an action you have done that you feel guilt or need to escape from.

Hmmm... Tricky! I wonder if there is anyone on here who can interpret dreams...

I had a totally mental one a week or so ago. Well, it wasn't so much a dream as a weird mindstate when I woke up. It was about 7-8 am (other people were getting up, but I didn't have to. It was after a 4am IRC session, ok? XP), and I kept wakening up without a clue where I was, what time it was, or what I was doing. The one thing that I was sure of was, that I was Lindsey McDonald. I told you it was weird.

Don't look at me like that. It must have been after that time I spent the whole night finding Lindsey Screencaps for the Gallery and chatting with Jen and Lee about how much he's in love with Angel. Either that, or I'm mental. I'm swithering 50/50 at the moment...

I'll go with mental :P
Wow... strange! and yet i find it slightly comforting for some reason! I cannot beleive i just wrote that!!!!

I once dreamed that i saw my whole life after i died. That was weird and yet slightly good.
It was like a film or something. I woke up in my coffin and the camera rose up out of the ground while my funeral was taking place, and then when it went back underground (the camera) all the coffins had turned into hospital beds and everyone who had died was a patient. No one has hair and we all wore the long white robes. The i was escorted into a door and at the other side was a gallery of snapshots of moments of my life so far. When i looked at each picture they moved and i could see the scene clearly like i was there or something. And then after i had looked i was escorted back to my hospital bed, i was given a needle which made me sleep and i woke up.

It was freaky... i thought i had died and passed on. Its one i will never forget!

Oh... just googled 'Dreams Interpreted' and it came up with this site called 'An Online Guide To Dream INterpretation'

Maybe it could be of a help!

Yes! I'm not the weirdest! But that one actually sounds quite freaky. It's weird how some dreams are scary, but you forget about them quickly enough, whereas others - even the non scary kind - can leave you with a weird feeling for the rest of the day. I can think of two right off the bat that have left me with that feeling, and I'm pretty sure one was about an Angel. And I don't believe in Angels. And, I think he was kinda gay...

*is the weirdest again*

Almost a Willow quote.... KARMA!
Okay...
theres a dog.

What color is the dog? how big is he? are you sure it IS a dog. Why do you say it is "evil" is it only because of the eyes? Do you ever let him bite you? Remember that often that which scares us in dream is that which we need to see and embrace.

Does his tail stick almost straight up in the air? (or at least it can be see over his back) one ear is 'bent-like' and head tilts alittle to the side? can you remember that much detail?

Wow... you sound like you know alot about it! Cool!

Hmmm...

I am soooo sure its a dog! Its kind of scruffy looking. Black fur all matted and messy. Barks and growls all the time... its just evil looking... like when you know something is evil... not to mention the eyes, which increased as the dream progressed. It was facing straight at me constantly and it never stopped. It was kind of like the dogs from Resident Evil but with black fur stuck on with glue (which sounds comical i know but its scary as hell!). ha ha... im weird!

Hope that can help you figure out my headspace!

Has anone ever had a dream where it is the end of the world, well i have and for some reason when the world is ending in my dreams it always tends to be high school where it all happens. hmmm i wonder why........
I dont think i have ever had a recurring dream tho.

He asked some pretty rudimentary questions - that doesn't mean he knows anything.

The thing is, to truly delve into what these dreams mean to you, we need to understand alot more about who you are, what you do and your deepest desires.

We then need to look into how you associate with people, how interact as all this will give a clearer picture into who you are

When you sleep the 'dreams' you have are just random pictures flashing in your mind.
The dream takes on linear form, a narrative if you will, when you are close to waking up as this is how your mind transfers the information from the subconcious to the concious

It is through understanding who you are that we can determine what the subconcious is trying to portray to your concious thus give you a better understanding of what the dreams mean.

Basically to know ones self truly is to know what the dreams mean.

Alot of people have a very basic understanding that images represent certain things in the mind, the subconcious, then quickly scurry off to some god forsaken internet site that will apparently decipher what they mean.

The thing is, this isn't the case More often than not, its just people blindly spouting crap and the person who is being discussed reading for the bits they WANT to mean them and making it work.

Before anyone thinks I am bitching

I am not attacking anyone, I am merely pointing out that IF you want an understanding/resolution to this dream/issue beware of Charlatans that may believe they are helping you when they don't know the first thing about what they are talking about

I don't know many people on this board (any more) well enough to say they do or they don't just giving you some very good advice on who you take direction from

I respect everything you said. In fact ive read a book on stuff like that... Tricks Of The Mind by Derren Brown. If you aint read it then please do because it goes into all the 'fake' things and explains principles with great examples.
Last night I dreamt my dad came to visit us. But I wouldn't see him. I locked my door, and hid under my bed. And then he started knocking(..or should I say hit?) on the door, while he was yelling.

Should probaly say I haven't had contact with my dad for a long time, since he started drinking again

I have always had very intense, vivid and sometimes lucid dreams. I dream about lightning a lot, and I fly in my dreams constantly (Superman-style flying). The worst dream I have had in recent weeks was when I fell asleep on the couch in the living room and dreamt that my twin sister had died. In my dream I got a phone call telling me what had happened, that she was hit by a car while walking with a friend. It wrecked me, but the most interesting part of the dream was my dad's reaction; he didn't care. In fact, he tried to explain to me why he had been through worse in his life. I think that's a fairly accurate portrayal of him, stunningly insightful for a non-lucid dream.

Twins ftw!
I tend to be of the cognitive psych school of dream interpretation: when we sleep, our brain is still working, and neurons sometimes fire in a random pattern, which the slightly-awake, sensible side of our brain tries to interpret in a sensible manner. Hence, dreams don't really mean anything. They just are.

If by 'mean anything' you are referring to some external meaning, I agree. However, neurologically speaking, the role of the hippocampus in dreaming cannot be ignored, regardless which hypothesis of 'dream purpose' you subscribe to.

Well last night... the last thing i did was come on here before bed, which probably caused this dream.

Anyway. I was in pub with loads of people (it was a sort of college gathering but in a pub instead of the classroom) and we were told that there was a special guest coming. He was late, but when he did arrive it was James Marsters... COOL! Anyway, before he started he wanted a fag and asked if anyone smoked, so i went out with him for one and it was weird, and we just chatted and stuff.....

And then my alarm went off, great!

So anyway. To cut along story short... that was it!

Glad I made you laugh - but of all the people in the Buffyverse, you know he really IS the one you'd find downing a bevy in a seedy Pub in Sheffield
Well, I always have the same-ish dream. It usually consists of me either outside or inside and trying to escape a killer or a drug addict or some random wierdo. I always have those kinds of dreams, but the set up and people are always different.

Last night I was at teh studios of WB and I was playing Phoebe Buffay, but I got fired, cos I sang Smelly cat really awful 🙁
