The last Dreams thread moved to the Cemetery awhile ago, so I figured I'd start a new one. I had a weird dream that I want to share with you all (because there was Buffiness involved). Feel free to post your own, too. Dreams are neat!

Anyway... last night I had a weird dream in which everyone had the wrong body. I, for example, had the body of Maxie Jones (from General Hospital). My hubby had the body of Angel (from, duh!, the Buffyverse). We were still us... we just looked different. Also, neither of us noticed the switcheroo.

In this dream, it appeared as if I was in college and home (at my parents') for the summer. I had some family time, called best bud Rory Gilmore (from the Gilmore Girls) on the phone for a chat, then had the hubby (then-fiance) over for some quality kissage time (neither of us seemed to notice we weren't in the right bodies).

Then Spinelli (from GH) comes into my girlhood room sometime after the hubby has apparently vacated the premises. He thinks I'm Maxie and starts with the Maxie crushage. It takes me awhile to understand what he's saying (because Spinelli talks funny) until I finally gather that he passed the hubby on the way out and is upset because he thinks that Maxie is sleeping with the hubby/Angel(us) guy. In this dream, it seems I lack a mirror, because I still don't know I'm in Maxie's body. So when poor, broken-hearted Spinelli asks me if I am sleeping with the guy who just left (I don't remember the exact quote, but the word "regular" was in there somewhere), I shrug and say, "Well, pretty regularly. Yeah. Why?" Poor Spinelli heart crushage ensues.

I don't think the hubby and I ever figured out that we were in the wrong bodies, which meant that somewhere out there, poor Angel and Maxie were dealing with downgrades while their disappointed lovers were stricken with heartbreaking jealousy.

I was relieved to wake up in my own body, that's for sure! Have you guys ever had dreams in which you switched bodies?

Also, post your dreams! Dreams are neat!

I should NEG Karma you for hurting Spinelli! MEAN YOU!
I've had body switcher dreams before. They're weird. Lately I've been dreaming of this ex-friend of mine (he hasn't spoken to me in 5 years due to a misunderstanding that lead to a screaming fight). It's pretty simple; we'll hang out, talk about stuff, do fun stuff . . . basically be friends again. It's heartbreaking to wake up and it not be true.

Wow, you seem like a complicated dreamer... just like myself, actually - including TV character usage, though you seem to be slightly heavier on that than me (but, I've once dreamt of helping my in-dream best friend Bree van de Kamp - from DH, if anyone needs telling - kill that creepy apothecary boyfriend of hers. :evillol🙂. I wonder whether you are as introverted as me, as I've read the more intro one is, the more convoluted his/her dream life tends to become.

I remember I've (rarely) dreamt to be someone else, but nothing specific springs to mind, except for one where I was a woman (and deeply enjoyed it - waking up from that was rather sad).

What I dream very frequently is me not being actively involved in the dream scene, either being a completely passive bystander or even watching stuff happen like on TV or something, with me not even present in the scene at all.

As to current dreams of mine, well I don't see any I could tell here... from the time I've started to go on Prozac, my waking life has improved massively, but my dreams have shown a tendency of going none-too-family-friendly aggressive. : confused

What really would interest me (no, I'm not asking for details!) is whether dreams with sexual content are anywhere near as common as they're made out to be in dream literature. I've got a pretty good memory for my dreams, and I'm not heavy on censoring myself/denial, so I can't help but be confused to this point as I hardly ever dream of explicit sexuality... you could count the times per year on one hand, easily.

I often have dreams in which I'm with someone I'm trying to get alone for a little sexcapades, but it actually happening is pretty rare.

I had a REALLY strange x-rated dream the other night, but those are rare for me
Yeah me too, dont have sex dreams too often. My dreams are just so random, yet the same.
I get alot of really sick, f****d up dreams.
Love dreams about going on holiday, or driving.
I dreamed once 50 cent shot my face.
And i always dream about jumping off platforms in the sky, but i always land and continue dreaming.
Always dream about water(like the sea, beaches, docks)

Theres too much, i can remember hundreds of dreams.

I don't know if sexual content is common or not. As far as actually having sex in a dream goes, that's pretty rare for me. Kissing happens more often, but still not too much (although it did happen in this dream). Actually, it's much more likely that someone will mention sex in conversation, like Spin did in this dream, than that my dream will contain actual sexual content. And when my dreams do contain sexual content, it's usually wrong in some way -- like body switching, the guy having AIDS, or the guy turning into a scary stalker. Sex in my dreams tends to come with a high creep factor. If I had to analyze its meaning, I'd say it seldom means anything sexual and usually means something about getting close to something frightening, true and/or important and then inventing an in-dream reason to back off.

Then again, my dreams usually involve running or fighting for my life. That doesn't usually leave a lot of time to stop for a booty call. So maybe people who don't have a lot of nightmares do have a lot of sex dreams. Who knows?

As far as whether or not I'm introverted goes... I wouldn't have always described myself as introverted, but yes; I have recently become rather introverted. Even so, my dream plots have always been wacky and convoluted. I blame the fact that I'm a writer. 🙂

When I do dream, I dream weird and sometimes they come true which is very very disconcerting I might add.

They're are a couple that stand out for me. There was one just after 9/11 where I dreamt my secondary school was attacked by terrorists (they were more black ops than anything though) and I went all Buffy/Lara Croft and took them all down. I was fully kitted out with an AK and everything. One second I was patrolling the halls and the next I was jumping off a building in down town Limerick and landing on a yellow NY taxi. Eventually I ended back in the halls where I found one of my not-so-favourite teachers disected! she was up right in a pool of blood and her arms were in position to do "I'm a little tea-pot". Then bam it was a month later and I was being honoured at the school for saving everyone (apart from the unfortunate Mrs. Canavan) and my arm was in a sling (a war wound I pressume). I was told to go to our drama class, so I head up the stairs and look in the class and see that the drama teacher Ms. Bennett is teaching everyone to do "I'm a little tea-pot". So I head in and try and fall in with the rest of the class but I can't because of the sling, so I start crying and then I woke up.

It was almosy 7 years ago but I remember vividily, it was just sooooooo strange.

I had a dream that I was with the Buffy crew circa season 3 and we were invoved in some sort of huge siege that was going on in the high school.

Also, all the talk of Dracula on the boards made me dream of him last night. Although, it was quite a boring one in that it was me in work and Dracula was round the back of the building practicing his sword skills. lol!

I've actually had a few dreams in recent that have come true. A couple months ago, I had a dream it was 6:12 (it was kind of funny...it was actually midnight, and I woke up, thinking it was actually 6:12, and woke up everyone in the house because I thought I was late for school. But that's aside the point.) Later, I actually woke up at 6:12. Last week, I had a dream I got an 82 on my history final, and that's the grade I actually got. A couple days ago, I had a dream I was playing my bass and all of a sudden, the strings turned into silly string. The next day, my E string broke. There have been more incidents where my dreams were almost prophetic, but those are just a few that really stand out to me.

Most of my dreams are pretty senseless, though...as in, Cheese Man senseless. I have had quite a few dreams that I'm not actually in; I've dreamt up Heroes and Buffy episodes, but they were both really strange. The Heroes episode was about Claire fighting pirates, and the Buffy episode was about Willow being afraid to go across a lake. But a few days ago, I had a pretty cool dream that actually made a little sense...in it, I had a dream I died and somehow came back to life with all these cool powers, but I wasn't allowed to tell anyone I'd died. Then, a friend of mine seemed to know, then later, I found out she was the one that had killed me. It seemed like the plot to a really bad movie, but hey, at least it made some sense.

Aside from the weird aforementioned one, I've had quite a few other Buffy-related dreams. Two nights ago, I dreamt I went on a date with Gunn. A couple months ago, I dreamt I joined the Scoobies. And in a lot of my dreams, even if it has nothing to do with anything else going on, either I or someone else mentions how hot James Marsters is. I guess when you're exposed to something as much as I am to Buffy (and James Marsters...), you're bound to have a lot of dreams about it.

As far as sex in dreams goes, even though I'm sure a lot of people have had dreams where it was mentioned, I don't think many people have actually had dreams where they have sex with someone. I've had quite a few dreams where I've held someone's hand or kissed someone who I had a crush on, but never much more than that. Oh, great...now, I'm really curious as to why that is, and it's gonna be on my mind all day.

I remember having dreams in which my name is Ashleigh, my parents are Buffy and Spike and I keep killing all the characters from Tomb Raider! Also sometimes in these dreams things happen which are the same things that happen in Tv shows that I watch. Like if something happened in Charmed that same thing would happen in my dream.

I'm the queen of bad dreams. A little while back me and my boyfriend were getting so worried about it that I almost went to a doctor. Now it's usually only once a week that I have nightmares. I always dream about the people closest to me betraying me, and usually it's somehow linked to a movie or book I've just read. For example I watched Rosemary's Baby and then had a horrific nightmare in which I was Rosemary and my boyfriend was her husband and my parents the old neighbours! More often though I just have the standard nightmare of my boyfriend cheating on me. Namely my best friend!
I obviously have some major trust issues!

I've been reading Salems Lot recently which lead me to having a quite scary vampire orientated dream last night. Only for some reason vampires couldn't eat humans that hadn't been eating so me and my boyfriend had to starve ourselves to try and stay alive! Only there were all these really nice sandwiches being made so I really wanted to eat.

I never have sex dreams either, but it would be really nice to swap some of my horror movie plots and boyfriend cheating themes for some nice raunchiness with my boyfriend!

Yipes. Rosemary's Baby dream = scary.
Most of my dreams are nightmares too. Not as many in the way of horror themes, sometimes I find it difficult to identify the dreams from reality they are that vivid. If they involve demons ect then I Know they arent real and are much easier to forget about and move on from and I dont have dreams like that often. Most of my dreams have the common theme of losing control, or control being taken off me, getting chased and restrained not being able to get away. I can feel everything and very often wake up with bruises or in pain from something that has happened in a dream. I rarely sleep for more then a few hours at a time but am in a routine now that is somewhat working. Sleeping meds dont do much, there was a combination of meds that put me to sleep and kept me asleep but that was almost worse as I was trapped in the nightmares and not able to wake up and escape them.

Sometimes I have normal dreams (haha if you can call anyones dreams normal 😛) I rememeber reading the "Tommorow when the war began" series and having dreams about that. Have had a few buffy dreams but nothing that makes any sense.

Im the king of dreams.
Anyway. Sometimes i dream ive got ----, but i never get to have a -----, it can be very annoying.
Does anyone ever dream of water, spiders, loseing teeth or a certain house?
These are supposed to be among the most common dream themes.

I once dreamed that a character I created (a Slayer called Belle) was seeing a movie with her friend when Angelus showed up. She chased him all through the movie theater and into this lounge type place. And then that dream cut to another dream where my dad and my sister were in the same lounge buying things. It was wierd.

And ooh! I had this one dream that made it so I can't wear full red shirts anymore. I dreamt that I was on our front porch, jumping off of it and into a pile of bubbles when my friend's mom came running down our sidewalk, yelling at my mom, "The world is ending!" And then my dream faded to white.

What's a really wacky coincidence though is that like the next day on Gilmore Girls Lorelai told Rory about a dream she had involving Paul Anka, and HER dream faded to white, too. Lol.

This "a certain house" seems weird to me. I wonder, how do you dream of "uncertain houses"? ::huh1:: Specific, recognizable houses I dream of very often are my parents', my Grandma's and my old school (still being in school, grades 11-13, is an extremely common dream of mine, often with me having missed classes and/or homework for weeks or months! Only recently this changed somewhat into me realizing in-dream that I've already graduated a long time ago, so I keep telling teachers and fellow students "people, I really don't need to do any of this, I've graduated already and am just here for fun now." 🙂 ).

Water, sometimes. Spiders, thankfully seldom (my arachnophobia isn't as bad as it was when I was a kid, but it's still very noticable). Losing teeth, very very rarely, but it happens.

A very common (and nightmarish) element of my dreams is trying to be alone and locking my door behind me, but having the lock either not working or the door broken up and people (most of the time, my mum, sister or Grandma) invading my private space. One dream like this was especially weird; people kept coming unbidden into my flat and set up a study area for pupils and a supermarket (!?) inside of it...

Other common ones are flying (especially, but not limited to, if I reach lucidity in the dreams, which happens around once a month for me) and looking in the mirror and seeing myself with radically different hair than IRL.

I have the weirdest friggin' dreams on the planet. ALWAYS in color. ALWAYS so vivid & crazy. I once had a series of dreams that played out like a soap opera; each night's dream picked up where the last night's dream left off. That went on for 6 nights. And then a great deal of them came true.

I remember when I was in 2nd grade, I dreamt that I was Tarzan, & trying to save my elementary school (which happened to be held in a submarine) from the sea demons. I swung everyone to safety on my jungle vine, and then taught everyone to breathe underwater so they could fight the sea demons themselves if I wasn't around. 😀

Yipes. Hope your 2nd grade dream didn't come true :S
I find dreams facinating! I've written down EVERY dream I've had for 4 years now. They've filled 4 notebooks!
Lately I have a lot of Buffy dreams (for obvious reasons) but sometimes they don't make any sense at all. I always try to go back and try to firgure out what they mean but that doesn't always work.

I've kept a dream diary on my PC for some years too... almost 1000 pages type in all, as I often remember more than one dream a night and in pretty good detail too.
Last night was, again, a Buffy dream night for me. 🙂

I don't remember the details too well, but I do remember I was sitting in my mother's living room, together with her and my sister, watching a (non-existent) ep of Buffy on TV and discussing with feverish enjoyment in-jokes happening on screen regarding both Anya and the Tillow ship (the ep obviously "happened" before the end of S6 :sigh🙂.

I have lots of strange dreams relating to buffy. Some of them are just me being in the episode. And i often dream about Srah/Buffy😉 You can guess what kind of dream i see about her😉😉

I seem to have a mental block on remembering dreams.
When I wake up for whatever reason, there is no memory of any dream.
Not even a fleeting wisp of remembrance.
It has always been this way for me.

I'm sure I do dream, there is just no connection between the dream world and reality for me on a conscious level.
