I did not know that. Hang on. Let's get em both in the same place.
The very first flash-forward seems like it was furthest into the future. Jack was a total wreck, and Kate was free (post-trial?). Is that right?

Wonder if the writers are revealing future events in reverse...so that the two story threads are moving towards each other to a particular point in time -- the rescue of the Oceanic 6. Maybe it's more random than that.

I hadn't thought of that, but I be you're right.
I suppose Aaron might be considered one of the 6...

Aaron is the 7th, kept secret by the 6 (one of their numerous secrets). 5 & 6 is a couple.

Edit:

The flash forwards are a miniseason with season, providing arc and a new starting point. Once we finally get to the point where we start the flash forward story we've seen it already and actually go forward from there, jumping, essentially.

That's what my source described.

I think in the last season we'll probably be caught up with the flashbacks at some point and I think the last few episodes will probably be on the island after they go back, but this show is always doing crazy things so there's no way to know for sure.

I wonder when we're gonna see what's happening on the island after the 6 left. What's Locke and the crew doing while Kate is on trial? That's what I'm curious about.

What's so great about Lost? I've seen a few episodes but they all seem the same to me =/

I try to get into it, but its not working! I spose when it comes out on DVD it will be easier to follow without having to try and remember what happened last wk blah blah blah!
lost is really hard to jump into the middle of, there's a lot going on between characters, symbolic moments and images, and other things that, if not seen from the beginning is really hard to understand... and to understand how things are progressing, which is probably why it all seems the same.

I loved the last episode. I find myself enjoying the flashfowards alot even though they are setting things in stone and making us wonder about who dies, who stays, what happens! It can drive ya nuts knowing what is going to happen before it does but so far I'm loving it. Hurley's flashforward with Charlie was great but Kate's I liked more. It is very interesting so far!

Im loving the flash forwards, the last episode with Kate was excellent! This season has been really good so far, better then last season (and I really liked last season)

I hope they don't kill anyone in the flash forwards, it would be annoying to watch them knowing their end!

For some reason the biggest question I have with the show is Libby, I can't wait for that to be explained. I know there was loads of theories about her working for Dharma at the time.

I kept assuming the people who have arrived on the island are working for Dharma and they want Ben after what he did - But they would already know where he was wouldn't they, unless they don't cuz he keeps moving off the island like in the flash forward) Anyone any theories on who they are, I was thinking they were the same people that approached Hurley asking about the other survivors as well?

i dont know if they work for dharma as much as they are interested in dharma, and finding out what they did on the island if anything....

though knowing Ben was there... i dunno. I think he may be way more than he says he is, way more of a powerful person off the island (so it would seem with Sayid's flash forward).

So who liked the latest ep? The Desmond, unstuck in time thing. It was one of my faves this season, for sure. Still don't quite understand all the imaginary physics in that one, but it was good. Moving at the end, with Penny.

it's not really "imaginary physics", a lot of it stems from theories from Einstein and the like. A really good page to check out to see some theories about the episode (and explanations, but nothing is concrete, just fans theorizing) you should check this out: The Constant/Theories - Lostpedia

I thought it was brilliant, if not a bit confusing at first. And Daniel could have told Desmond right off the bat in 2004 that he needed a constant, without sending him back to himself... Daniel obviously did it for his OWN benefit, because HE needed a constant just in case, and had to send Desmond back to meet him so Desmon would end up his constant.

I guess what struck me as fanciful was the idea that one's consciousness could time travel, apart from a physical body. But what do I know. Maybe so, with all the weirdness of quantum stuff. I'll have to check out that lostpedia link.

Also, that auction was interesting. Penny's dad, bidding on the journal from the Black Rock, and the connection with Magnus Hanso.

So who, i guess of the U.S members, saw last night's episode?

Just to warn again, this will contain spoilers!!!

I very much cried at the end, although everyone has theories that Jin isn't really dead in the future, but i think he is.

And I knew like 3 episodes ago that it was Michael on the boat. It only made sense, since he was one of the few we had no idea about.

And now the next episode they say someone is going to die.... speculations anyone? We all already know who it CAN'T be, as in, whose off the island in the future. Maybe Michael gets caught and gets it? Maybe one of the freighter people? I hope not Daniel, because i really like him.

That really is a sad, yank at your heartstrings riff they play when somebody dies, isn't it?

So it's pretty much a given we're dealing with some sort of merging of alternate realities now, don't you think?

I wonder if the audience is starting to drift away as we get out of the soap, and into the harder Sci-Fi.

If Michael's back, where's Walt?

As far as who else might die, I thought at least one was a given. If Kate has adopted Claire's baby in the future, Claire is history.

I was thinking we'd seen the last of Walt, cos that actor must be getting too old now"”they even made the joke about it after his "ghost" visited Locke. But with the time travel stuff, and flash forwards, the writers could come up with any rationale they want I guess.

I guess it's getting less soapy, but there's still been plenty of emotional involvement lately...with Desmond and Penny, and now Sun and Jin.

and dont forget Jack and Juliette. I really DON'T like Juliette and im not liking them taking a romantic turn together.

And Walt will def be mentioned, if not seen, because the ad for next week has Ben telling Mike something about "if he ever wants to see his boy again".

Juliet is the most amazing character in the show for me, Elizabeth Mitchell is beyond excellent. Every other character pales in comparison when she's on the screen.... *sigh*

im not saying as an actress she isn;t good, i just think her character is a b*tch and i have, at this point, nothing but contempt for her.

As far as Sayid giving away to the captain that Michael was the saboteur ... i dunno what to think. is it just that he's still mad and sees him as a traitor who left them to die? or is it really some sort of plan we don't know about?

I can't believei ts going to be a month before a new episode. i hate that crap.

This show will never stop being "soapy", and it shouldn't. The very foundation of the show is the characters, and every now and then they need a plot-heavy and less character-driven episode to sort of accelerate the show but even as the show gets weirder they're still gonna be doing lots of character stories. Or at least they should.

LMLTF, I don't think Juliet is a bitch. Whenever she IS bitchy she has every single right to be. She's a good woman, at least that's what I think from what we've seen. She's stuck in a crappy situation and is desperately trying to get out of it. She's also done nothing but help everyone. When she gets an attitude with someone they pretty much always deserve it, and she just doesn't let very many people walk all over her.

Sun and Kate are both bigger bitches than she is. Although I love them too.
