To all of you who drive an automobile, what do you drive? If you don't have one or don't have a license yet, what would you like to have? (And let's be realistic here, no Jags, 'Vettes, or Lamborghini's)

anyone who thinks they know me at all should klnow how much fo a car geek i am...and i don't have a license! the car i would kill over is an Astin Martain DB9. beautiful.

but, in reality, i'll probably end up driving a Kia or something. i'll bet Jeremy Clarkson is shivering right about now! :lmao:

I can't match the Aston Martin, but I've got a 1963 P-1800 Volvo like the one Roger Moore drove in "The Saint." In fact, the old Volvo was the first "White Avenger."

Cool motor karma...I used to have a model of that one.

thats awesome that you named your car the white avenger.
The Pointys have recently taken delivery of a Honda Jazz...practical and great gas mileage (sob)...I yearn for an Aston or Jaguar XKR...or even one of the little Mazda sporty things, an MX5 or the other one that was in the X-Men film

Unfortunately, the old Avenger is in several pieces at the moment. I'm making do with an '88 Ford Ranger.
I'm a tiny bit of a rev-head...I have a V6 Touring Camry and she goes like the wind on an affordable price.

I would beg and grovel for the chance to drive an f1 car. Okay...not every practical but still....a little spin in one of their ferraris would just be ahhhh....*drools*

You should seek out the ep of Top Gear where Richard Hammond (I think it was him) tried a Formula 1 car...it was a real eye-opener. The guy drives and reviews cars for a living and really struggled to handle the F1 motor. I'll try to find a link...

Try this - YouTube - Top Gear - Richard Hammond drives a Renault R25 part 2 Hehehe...I'd forgotten the bitwhere they got the engine to play God Save the Queen 🙂

Thanks Mr. P!
No doubt it would be a challenge. They're so small and so close to the road and with that much power....

I would settle for a ride in the 2 seater f1 car they have somewhere....I forgot which team had it...might have been Mclaren? Was basically just a promo type vehicle to let others get the feel of what it's like in one of those things.

I drive a 26 year old Volvo 244,
but my other car is a Holden Commodore VX race car.........honest ???

well it is 1/32nd scale.

Is that a Volvo 244' or a Volvo 544, because my first car was a 544, and I dearly loved it. It's the reason I fell in love with Volvos.
I drive...my mother CrAzY! Lol! Sorry, I couldn't resist!:lmao:

Yeah...um...cars and me don't really click. I can ride in them just fine, but the last time I tried to drive, I almost hit my mother, my cat, a bush, and another car all at the same time!

when you say you "almost hit a bush," did you mean george or laura?

You missed all of them ? Don't tell me you were driving with your eyes open as well !
i drive a 2003 volkswagen jetta. there is nothing special about it other than that i payed it off 1.5 years early. go me!

i wish i had a sunroof though.

however, if i could have any car i wanted, i would want a golf cart with 22" rims, V8 engine, and could go 9 holes in 2.5 seconds.

.......no, im not joking.

George! Lol!
2002 Kia Spectra, silver. I know it's not the fanciest, but it gets me where I need to go and does it cheaply. Our other car is a green, 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix, 4 door with gold trim. My husband drives this car, but I'm the one that picked it out and bought it, yet I get stuck with the Kia. Pffff. He says he can't drive the Kia because he's too tall to fit in it right. 6'3 not that tall.

I once had a black, 1995 Camaro with a 3.8 V6. Even tho it was the standard edition, I loved that car so frickin much. It brings tears to my eyes thinking about it. Sadly I had to sell it because I lost my job and couldn't keep up the payments anymore.

I drive a Subaru Forrester - just good reliable family car.
I'd love a hybrid car of some description, you know with the environment an all, that or a lexus 4WD🙂

I drive a VW Polo. Its an '06 plate and was bought brand new. It has been washed a total of 3 times!! But being the kind of Silver it is it doesn't look that dirty lol

My dream car would be a Mini Cooper. I've driven one before and they are great, a little on the small side if your used to bigger cars and its a bit close to the road. There a bit out of my price range at the minute though 🙂

I LOVE Mini Coopers! They look so fun!
Well, I'm 36 and I've never learnt to drive, and I don't even want to 'lol'

Too many idiotic drivers on the road these days that really shouldn't be behind the wheel - usually the ones that leave a mass of destruction behind them.

But getting back to the question in hand, if I was to drive, then I would be really boring and practical and go for something that would fit 8 people...

If it were just for me, and I were younger and I could drive, then I'd go for a VW Beetle convertible. 😀

I am the queen of crappy old cars. Got a 95 ford escort right now with a passenger door that doesn't open and that doesn't have a window right now (I got locked out and things went badly), used to have an old buick (and I'm not 85 years old yet thank you), 92 honda accord (wrecked that one) and before that an 85 ford f-150 that was literally the size of a junbo jet, had no heat, a metal bar poking out of the seat, rearview mirror duct taped on...you get the point...anyone got a nicer car they'll give me? I'll make you cookies!
