Driven By A Feeling of Loss

Cressida had long felt something was missing from the important eventualities in her life. When she looked at languages she didn’t understand, when condensation appeared on a window she half expected writing to be on it or half hoped the writing to appear, even when news programs featured people speaking into a microphone and a person was doing finger movements for the deaf.

Cressida half expected to read a message for her even though she didn’t know who would be sending her a message. She had often tried to figure out who it might be giving that could have sent her a message though no one she had known had been able to give her any helpful notions.

A visit to a side show act at a fun fair proved beneficial, the Fortune Teller gave her a new direction. The Teller told her to seek the aid of a specific psychic. The psychic listened to what she was told about Cressida and was able to give her the knowledge to seek a specific Ouija board, not to talk to the spirits but to seek help from who she would be best to get help from.

Over the following week it played on her mind, Cressida was a bit scared of the prospect of using an Ouija board. Though what made her more reluctant was being told to seek the help spoken of was that the psychic had told her to seek the enlightenment from a specific Tarot card reader.

The reader caused Cressida to have palpitations, as the reader told Cressida she had a twin sister and that it would begin to explain itself to her when she and the other twin were in the company of her twin sister. A friend of the family who had told her that she was an adoptee, the friend, Victoria, suggested that Cressida seek the details she needed to know from a witch.

The witch was known as Angharad, Victoria was given the directions how to get to where the witch lived. A week later Cressida and Victoria began the drive to Angharad’s home. When they got there and met Angharad both Cressida and Victoria were surprised by Angharad, her appearance was not as they expected.

During the drive they had discussed what Angharad might appear like, neither of them guessed that the witch would be so young or so beautiful. “I envisaged you would be at least fifty years old with wrinkly skin,” said Victoria. Angharad smiled, “I decided long ago that I would try to make myself appear a lot younger than I am. I grow my own Comfrey to make ointment, when mixed with tree bark from an oak tree I am able to heal myself of the aging process and stop it from affecting my skin.

But I digress, you are here to learn about your twin sister Willow.” Angharad led Cressida and Victoria into her house and had them enter her bedroom, to look at themselves in the full height mirror. Victoria was amazed by the cottage she had never seen a rock cottage that had been kept in such a wonderful condition.

In Angharad’s bedroom both Cressida and Victoria were told to look at their reflection in the mirror. While they looked at themselves Angharad moved the rug from the floor to reveal a magic circle, Angharad had them look very closely at the circle.

Cressida was first to realize the circle had been carved into the rock that made the floor. “The symbols are not to do general magic as such, they are to increase the strength of the magic. So Cressida, do you want to see what your twin looks like?” Cressida smiled at what she was asked, even more so when the image of a figure appeared in the circle.

“I must admit I do like the red hair,” said Angharad. Cressida was taken aback, “How were you able to make Willow be in the room?” Angharad almost laughed at Cressida but contained herself, she swung her arm through the spirit of Willow. “As you see that is not her, you only agreed to see what she looked like, are you now saying you’d like to meet her?” asked Angharad.

Cressida slowly nodded, “Just tell me when and where to go, I’ll be there,” replied Cressida. Stunned, she stepped back three paces as the physical embodiment of Willow took form in the circle. “What you need not ask is who had Willow be here, was it Willow or was it me?” asked Angharad. “What, could Willow have done that?” asked Cressida.

“Easily, I have just caused twenty or so girls to gain the power of the slayer after invoking the Powers That Be to allow the Guardians to grant them the contained fury of the Scythe. Moving myself to another continent is simple compared to that and let’s face it, finding out I have a twin was worth the trip,” said Willow.

Angharad advised Cressida, Willow and Victoria to look at the picture on the wall, Cressida asked who were the people in the painting. Angharad pointed to a picture, “That is a family as it was before a church took its vengeance on the family. Cressida looked at the people in the picture, it was of a grandmother, a mother and father and their twin babies.

The mother was accused of witchcraft, her babies were taken from her, one baby was given to a couple of another religion whilst the other was presented to a couple from their church. That baby was raised by a God fearing parents, unfortunately when the man died the woman blamed all the worlds ills on the child, even though it wasn’t possible for the child to have done what she was being blamed for.

That continued for years so when the pretend mother died the eighteen year old girl Cressida was relieved and began to search for who her real parents were, though now she was content at being with her twin sister.

Driven By A Feeling of Loss Part 2

Cressida and Willow were in a car with one of Willow’s friends, Mikey. An ambulance went passed the end of the road in front of them very fast, with the emergency lights flashing and the siren blaring. Cressida looked to Willow “Should we follow it?” Mikey declined “Let’s wait to see if any other emergency vehicles are following it first.”

Two fire engines and three police cars quickly followed the ambulance with their emergency lights flashing and the sirens blaring. Mikey and the witch Christi, who he shared a house with wanted to know where they were going. Mikey suggested they were going to an accident, he looks at them to see if they want to follow seeing that they do he drives along the road.

Mikey kept driving until they neared an accident: In front of them they saw that a car had skidded on a patch of oil and it had spun around, as it had it collected another car and forced that one into the path of an oncoming van the driver of which and his mate were dazed. They sat on the road verge. Some of the vans cargo of coffins were scattered over the road.

“I had never thought of it before but how else do people get coffins delivered to them?” asked Cressida. One of the coffins being carried back to the van was dropped and a body fell out of the coffin. After only a minute the body begins to move. Willow got out of the car and went to look into one of the other coffins.

“There is a body in this one as well,” said Willow, the body in that one starts to move as well, Willow studies the body, “I don’t know how to tell you but this body is a vampire!” On closer inspection she saw that most of the other coffins have bodies in them, bodies like the first, she called for help. Mikey and Cressida ran to her aid. “Could these new vampires help to bolster the Legion of the Damned?” asked Cressida.

Mikey noticed a passage going down the embankment he looked to one of the police officers and pointed to what he had found, “Could there be another car down there?” asked Mikey. Going down and following where the tyre track led them, they found that a couple of people were in the car. “I don’t know what their chances of surviving the accident might be.”

He ran back up the embankment and reached the road just in time to see a werewolf run onto the road near the accident, it stopped to look at the van then it continued to run across the road and into the forest, several other werewolves followed it. Not knowing where they were going he asked Willow if she knew.

“At that accident the driver and his off sider ran from the road verge into the forest, could it be the werewolves are after them or the knowledge of where the cargo was going? We need to know ourselves. I have a terrible feeling that there is one thing I’m sure we missed, something that is at the house.”

Willow pressed Cressida to get the car ready as each of them got into the car Cressida followed Willows instructions to get to Angharad’s home. In her bedroom Willow looked at the picture on the wall, what she wanted to see was a mirror on the wall in the picture. The reflection was of a map on the opposite wall a map of a smallish island.

Angharad gave them directions of where to go and who to ask for passage on a ferry to the small island. They arrived in time to get a ferry which only had a couple of passengers so they were able to have a good conversation to the skipper of the ferry, he relayed a few tales of what he had seen and tales of what he had heard about the island.

The skipper relived a tale he’d been told about a man who had been convicted of viciously murdering seven people, though when he had been told he would be held on the island before his sentence was given he begged to be not sent to the island. Having his journey to the island confirmed the man hung himself.

The skipper of the ferry relived the time he had taken some people to the island after nightfall. As he had neared the island he remembered how he has seen a fiery body of a demon rise some fifty feet into the air, he had been glad to reach the island and unload the prisoners though he felt some discomfort for the convicts who would have to live with the demon.

Slowing to maneuver the ferry to go alongside the jetty the skipper spoke of a harbourmaster who had gone with four dock workers to row his long boat to the smooth waters around the island. Many fish could be seen in the waters near the island though they soon realized that all the fish they saw were moving away from the island. Even though nothing had been caught, the harbourmaster took to following the fish.

The skipper of the ferry said he was saddened to leave them on the island though he was glad that he could leave the area. As he directed the ferry from the island he thought of the perils they would face. Finding the chalet they were told to stay in Cressida, Willow, Christi and Mikey were worried, Cressida wanted to know what forces of evil they were about to face.

“No one knows what they are exactly as no one has ventured close enough to them to find out,” said Willow. “There is another way of thinking as no one has seen them it could be said that the werewolves are good, it may be them who are against all those who are evil. Who knows if the harbourmaster or the men who did the rowing were good people?” asked Mikey.

“Good point and as you say that there may have been an evil being on the ferry, the appearance of the evil was to scare the evil away,” said Cressida. The following day the trio went to the building the werewolves were said to have gone to. They were allowed to enter the buildings to see the wonder the werewolves gave to their visitors. Mikey was amazed though he was glad to see they were all good natured people.

“What of the vampires in the van at the accident we saw and how did you find the two who had escaped into the forest?” asked Mikey. Those who had welcomed them into the islands building told the trio that the Riders of Gods Army had trailed the men into the forest and were still trailing them to find out where they went.

The person at the door stated, “All werewolves were undergoing teachings of what may happen when it was found out where the Anti-God kept his relaxed body, that those who protected the leader of them held himself free of their invasion. The time would soon be known and they could make plans to bury the hatchets in the entities of evil. To redeem to themselves the sense of loss they had felt.

Driven By A Feeling of Loss - Part 3

Mikey said he was glad that the werewolves were on their side, he had hated the thought the werewolves might have been on the oppositions team. Mikey knew a few young women who he knew were witches. And that they were friends but the possibility being that other people not known to him were referring to witches as people they could trust.

“I have heard that an entity of the good that had condemned the possibility that witches could be accepted as being friends. That they would never be allowed walk amongst those of us who knew what was, though I must add they were of the belief that mysterious beings were of the belief that all was not as some would have you believe,” said Mikey.

The man of the werewolf clan who stood by the door rested an arm on Mikey. “Everything is not how you see, for starters you have no idea how werewolves began and that is the same for witches. You pretend to know, what is known by you is that the werewolf is only a monster for a few days a month.”

As the clan of the werewolf would be just like anyone else for most of each month Cressida, Willow, Christi and Mikey presented themselves with Michel the leader of the house of the werewolves, he offered his two friends Vincent and Pablo, he wished for them to accompany the witch and the humans back to their home.

The friends of Cressida and Christi became quite surprised when Angharad presented herself to them, with her were her three daughters two of whom had been adopted and their names were changed, they had thought it wonderful as neither of them had liked their original name; the parents had been murdered by beings unknown.

The daughters names were Katrina, Katorina and Katerina they were unusually beautiful nice and friendly, they were unlike most people had portrayed them to be and of the people took them as friends. Neither Willow nor Mikey properly understood how the daughters could properly help them, unless if they used their beauty to have people see them as friends.

Michel began to inform them about what was what. He said, “Men and women are known by different names Vincent began to laugh then apologized saying that what was had only been told a couple of times has this been told to humans though Christi still smiled. She said that when becoming a part in the family the extent of true life was allowed to shine through.

Though it was known that both men and women could be werewolves not many knew of what they could be during the parts of the months when they were not controlled by the spirit of the wolf. During that time Katorina took it upon herself to seek the truth of what werewolf law was, knowing it was made up and knowing that many humans saw the law as a fabrication of what was.

Katorina likened that she had discovered the moon had no control over the wolf, like vampires it was the sun. When the sun bore its glare onto the reflective surfaces of the moon the werewolves saw the time was right for them, on many times it was only when the shine of the moon was freed by clouds. Katorina declared it was due to a millennia of self belief that the werewolves found themselves limited by the sun.

Katorina asked the friends Michel, Vincent and Pablo see if they could free themselves of the limitations of the moon. It took an age but no message was sent to them, even when the eons of time had passed by Katorina, Michel, Vincent and Pablo had not been heard of. No one had heard, seen or even smelt any disturbance of the air from them.

In the passing of time Angharad drew on the invocations of the Gods of the winds, to draw them into their opposites domain. She called upon the God of the east wind with far more power than she needed to, or had ever used. Angharad invoked so hard that her will passed so far to the East that it became the West. And as such when she had done that, when the Gods of the North and South were called each other came forth.

Angharad waited until she felt each God was a friend of what she wanted to do before she asked them of the where abouts of her friends. The God of the great South wind was able to answer Angharad, the God stated that her friends had gone to where each direction met, the place where the blue flame of the Prophetic Science of Predictions rose from.

Cressida saw writings on the window of bedroom appear, the message was advising her of how to return from where the Gods of the winds met. All thoughts of sadness disappeared as she read the message, though it had never occurred to her that the writings would be about what had happened in a future she knew nothing of.

“I was able to bring our friends back from where they were, lost in the lands where Hell is thought to be.” Cressida saw it though she found it hard to comprehend, how had Willow knowingly caused the message on the window be written when, as Cressida thought it so, Willow was in the bowels of the earth.

Much is said and much is spoken about Angharad being in conversation with the four Gods of the winds.

Driven By A Feeling of Loss Part 4

Sat in the open Cressida confided in Willow, “I feel all is different, not wrong exactly but, well, just different. Cressida looked to the table in front of her and remembered the times she had spent facing the condensation on a window. “It is almost as though I want a message to appear.” Willow held Cressida’s hand,

“Can you feel a vibration in the ground, much like an vertical earthquake although those earthquake are usually for an area several acres in area and this vibration is a bit too specific about where it relates too.” Both Cressida and Willow suddenly look to the top of the sky as a thunderous boom moves the clouds across the skies, all above the land they could see.

Willow looked up, she thought an asteroid had broken through the earths atmospheric defenses and was now hurtling down towards the earth leaving a long trail behind it. Suddenly it slammed onto the earth, causing a very large cloud of dust to disperse in the areas around them. As soon as they could see they saw a young woman though not like any woman they had seen.

The woman who stood before them had a large pair of white feathered wings though that was not the most remarkable asset that could be seen about her. What was most noticeable was the golden halo above her head and the way she looked to you, it was as though she was surprised that you could be stunned by her sudden appearance.

Cressida asked her, “How she had slammed onto the earth in such a way that clouds of dust had arisen all around her yet there was no point of impact noticeable.” The Angel turned her head side to side then moved to be beside them. The Angel smiled to her, “Our creator he gave you and I this life and he gave life to the planet so why would he allow me to harm the planet while doing his will?”

Cressida held Willows hand. “Can you feel the ground around you again? A tremor has just started to rise though my legs, if this one does rise where could it be from?” asked Cressida. The heated ground grew hotter not long before Willow caused Cressida the move backward. Just before the ground boiled then spewed molten rock,

Streams grew into rivers then the body of the water began to form itself into a lake. Willow was confused, lava spread onto the ground but the ground refused to melt as an Angel rose up from the ground, its wings and the creatures skin grew, sinewy and shiny. “Do you think coming from the deepest cavern of brimstone and Sulphur I would have unblemished skin?”

The winged demon grinned as she looked to the Angel, “Are we here just to welcome the special form of humans that God himself created, he saw them as the one he wanted who will soon be here.” The Angel acknowledged the Winged Demon she knew what they were there for and that the winged demon was right.

The winged Demon and the Angel were congratulating themselves for being able to accept their acceptance of each other with so little hindrance when another person walked into their immediate vicinity. The winged Demon saw into the person and began to wonder who had caused it to be there, it looked to the Angel. Eventually both of them began to accept it.

Had Cressida and Willow arrived earlier they would have been invited to see who the newcomer was, as it was they waited until he showed himself to them. Willow saw him first, “You look normal as I do yet I’m guessing you are not?” asked Willow. “Know me as Mordred, that tale that you see your whole life flash before your eyes as you die well, it didn’t with me. I did die though I was asked to return,” said Mordred.

Willow faced Cressida who turned to the Angel and the Winged Demon. “I used to be a practitioner of Voodoo before I died, and I will still adhere to the ways of Voodoo with a few who are here for what they are; the witch Angharad, the werewolf Vincent, the young woman who was brought up with the knowledge of all nature,” said Mordred.

She wanted the Angel and the Winged Demon to bond with the remaining werewolves along with Cressida, Victoria, Mikey and Michel with Pablo. “We will spread our bonds among the flawed beings of earth so having friends to return to will help our endeavours succeed. One thing I am not certain of is who knows our objective?”

The Winged Demon faced Mordred to tell her that several vampires had hidden themselves on a farm they had only been spotted when the flight paths for international flights had changed. Angharad and Willow went to the farm after Vincent saw the activity of vampires around the milking shed for the cows.

Willow accompanied Angharad and Vincent as they entered the farm bright and early the following morning. Angharad spotted the Solar panels on the roof of the hay barn. Wondering what the forty panels were for Angharad opened the door for a decent sized shed, in it was a large generator that would store more power that the solar panel could store.

Wandering to the bridge over the river Willow pointed to the weir on the river thinking it could create vast amounts of power, Vincent pointed to the circular buildings beside the weir that the water went to them instead of going over the weir. “Perpetual Motion machines that can create vast amounts of electricity,” said Vincent.

Once they had passed over the bridge they wandered into a forest where they found a mill for grinding husks of crops to make flour, though as Angharad pointed out there was no stream to drive the grinding wheel. A vampire who lived on the farm had been following them, “When a tree is cut down we generate power from the furnaces. That power we produce make the grinding wheel turn to make flour from the husks of our crops.”

“What power we don’t use on this farm other farmers are given it,” said the vampire. “There are not many like you about, vampires who help others, what else do you do?” asked Angharad. “We sell the milk, blood and meat. The meat feeds the animals we use to muster the cows at milking time, no doubt you are puzzled as to why we only do good given that we are vampires.” “So why do you?” asked Vincent. “We are all descended from the vampires that God created.”
