What would you like the immortal to be?.

Dracula was an uncommon vampire, The Immortal should be something else

I agree, Darla wasn't saying that the Immortal was a vampire, she was saying that the Immortal was something else, so special, so unique, that, compared to him, all vampires rate as ordinary and insignificant.

As I said above, I always envisioned the Immortal as an incubus, a creature who feeds on its victims' sexual energy in the same way that vampires feed on a victim's blood. We know that Slayer blood is an aphrodisiac and a powerful restorative to vampires, so it would stand to reason that her sexual energy would have the same effect on an incubus. Also, as Riley illustrated in Season 6, Spike has said in Season 10, their victims experience a euphoric sensation when being fed on by vampires, so, accepting the vampire/incubus equivalency, the Immortal's "victims" would act exactly like Darla and Dru did in "The Girl In Question."reasoning between (Incidentally, a lot from this theory came from a similar creature in Poul Anderson's "Operation Chaos," not Buffyverse canon, certainly, but still a valid possibility, barring any official ruling on the subject)

As for Dracula, I read another definition in "Seal Team 13" that describes a particular vampire as "a creature so evil that even Hell wouldn't accept (him)." That, or something similar, could explain why Dracula became a vampire, since I have a hard time picturing Vlad Tepes as someone who would allow himself to become the victim of any vampire, male or female.

As always, these are just more examples of the series of infamous series of "Avenger Theories" that the Boards are subjected to on what some members consider to be a far too frequent basis, but a select few encourage and look forward to.

I really would like to see The Immortal in the comics; I would like him to be an immortal like the ones in Highlander; he would simply exist, but no one would know (not even him) which are his origins.

And he would be like he was described on Angel: astonishing handsome, great lover, he would have climbed Mount Everest several times, wouldn't use use spells, and would have written a life changer book. An he would annoy the hell out of Spike (and Angel, if he was around).

Yeah, totally. The Immortal is a "a giant. A titan straddling good and evil, serving no master but his own considerable desires", as Darla said.

Those who are quoting or mentioning the comics are taking me into a unknown realm. I dont follow, read, nor care for the comics.

I think the immortal was a card that maybe joss would had used if the tv had continued, and it was a good card. I think the ATS ended in a good note, but you know there are many things that i would had done like have illyria regain her powers for that final battle. I think the main enemy of angel was on point, WR&H. If the series had continued and the immortal had shown up, i would had like him to remained exactly as his fame said, no sides.

Maybe connor is the immortal from the future, connor is immortal, right?

I've heard arguments using this single line saying that the Immortal is, therefore, an UNcommon vampire, but I've never bought into it. Making the Immortal a vampire would be as big a disappointment to me as having someone show up right before the final battle in Sunnydale with some magic bauble that would destroy the army of ubervamps, or have some kind of flying flame thrower swoop down and incinerate W&H's army of demons in "Not Fade Away" before Angel, Spike, Illyria, and Gunn even start fighting.

Joss would never screw his fans over like that.

Best fanfic resolution I ever read was Angel getting everyone off the ground and Gwen letting it rip, making a huge demon casserole. Points for creativity there - at least Gwen is a known quantity.

As I recall, an incubus or succubus would exhaust and finally kill it's victims just like any other parasitical creature. More important, I think Buffy would notice the side effects of an incubus eventually. Away from him, once she regained her energy, she'd know something was going on. Interesting though - this is one demon that goes all the way back to Assyria, maybe further but that's the earliest mention.

I kinda think the immortal is a one off - but I always thought it would be amusing to see him as a short skinny guy. Who says he has to be movie star handsome if he has all the rest.

Love the Vlad Teppes idea, but that opens the door to having Mengele and Stalin still walking the earth. Besides, how did Dracula actually become a demon from being a human?

As for the Avengers - Iron man fan here since childhood. 😀

Not a comic reader either. Connor is immortal? Never thought of that. Though there is some demon in him since he wasn't able to do violence in the Hyperion when it had the sanctuary spell. I wish they had followed up on that instead of dropping it. Hmmm - maybe he could be immortal given that he has the abilities of a vampire but none of the weaknesses (other than beheading). Maybe the immortal is a child of two vampires from way back in history! As Wesley said, all historical mythos have record of some impossible conception and birth of a being unheard of in all of history.

But possibly the Immortal/incubus would have Buffy under some sort of thrall, so that she knew what he was, but just couldn't resist. And, realizing the potential in what he had, he would be more inclined to sip, rather than gulp, draining Buffy so slowly that, given her Slayer restorative powers, could see him keeping her around indefinitely

Buffy could have even known what was going on, much like Riley and his vampire suck jobs, and gotten some sort of perverse pleasure in what was happening to her.

Buffy was able to resist Drac. I just think her slayer sense would go ping eventually. Besides, it would still take a physical toll, and both dawn and Andrew would notice.

OTH - why the hell not. No more unbelievable than any other coupling in the B-verse.😉
