Drugs

I know people who have done drugs since high school, and almost all of 'em are dead or in jail now...time is the great equalizer.

Parker...stay away from that slimeball...anyone who'd slip you a mickey is evil.

Most of the people I knew in college who were heavily into drugs were seriously screwed up as a result. I knew one guy who had a speed habit who got a job as a night watchman to pay for his drugs and then needed more speed to keep him awake during the day at college, so he needed to get more money, so he needed more shifts etc. etc. (at least he didn't start robbing people - well, not as far as I knew) - How stupid is that?(and he wasn't the worst...)

Yep Mr Pointy, it's sad to see ppl enter into this stuff.
& about posting, I really think that the internet can make ppl really addict. That's really the bad part on the internet.

& I know as well ppl taking drugs, all around me, mostly last year & they asked me if i wanted to try, but they never listen to me when i tried to explain them they had to stop.
 
Yeah, Mr. P, but it's a bit healthier to be addicted to posting as opposed to, say, cocaine!

A very dear family member had the coke problem. By the time he finally got straightened around he'd lost 10 yrs of his life, what with rehab, finding a new job (repeatedly), etc. I think that's one of the most insidious things about drugs - they are ultimately a waste of time, not to mention a waste of body and mind.

Plus, it isn't just the user who gets hurt - family and friends cop for the fallout as well. Not to mention the people who get burgled or mugged as a result of some poor wretch trying to get the cash for the next fix...
 
I can honestly say i never robbed anyone (and never would).

But yeah i hurt my family especially my mum she was there for me the whole time helping me through trying to come off of the Heroin *its so hard to admit that i was on heroin but feel better for getting it off my chest* i also lost a lot of my friends because i was like a zombie nothing mattered to me any more except heroin it was my life i had no feelings about anything.

But now my mum and i are best friends still, and because i moved when i came off of the drugs, i now have new friends. some of them do drugs but im strong enough to say NO.

Good for you babe. Again, I'm glad you got through it.

The only good heroin is the one they give people in hospital labelled diamorphine. It helped my brother a lot after he had a bad car crash. My daughter-in-law is on morphine at the moment after a serious bout of treatment so I won't diss drugs totally but it upsets me to see people destroyed by them.

As I said before - softer drugs are all about informed choice but H, coke, acid and so on are very dangerous things to mess with...

The problem isn't the drugs. It's a question of WHAT drugs, and how they are used. Even if one has a mind to try drugs, he/she should make sure that they are fully aware of what they are getting into. For instance, Crystal Meth can be addictive on first use, and I have seen people destroyed by it within 6 months. If you ever see one of your old friends looking like he hasn't eaten or slept in 4 weeks, and picking the scabs off his arm and eating them because he knows there is 'meth in his bloodstream - then you know what I'm talking about here.

Drugs can be helpful, they can be recreational, or they can be extremely dangerous (or all three, depending on how they are used). The trick is knowing which is which. Doctor's and pharmesists usually make that a no-brainer, since they'll tell you, but when dealing with illegal drugs you'd better have a good grasp of what your getting into. Sometimes it's not easy to undo.

Speaking of which, you can actually call a hospital or doctor anonymously and question them regarding the different illegal drugs. Often they are more than happy to help inform, because they know that people will do them anyway, and would like to guide type and usage if possible.
