Does anybody else just want to know her last name? I mean we all know so much about her, but I don't think Joss has ever given her a surname.😕

I have never been a fan of Drusilla, so no, I don't care to know more about her. LOL But it would be an interesting thing to learn more about her family life when she was alive. It could make a cool comic!

Almost all of the big bad vamps don't have last names...Angelus, Spike, Drusilla, Darla, Elizabeth, James, Kakistos, Luke, The Master (although, we do know his last name it just wasn't spoken on screen).

I just thought it was a good way to keep them at arms length, you know? They were supposed to be the big bads, so it gave them that air of illusion, that mystery that would keep us guessing about ten years down the line.

And, oh, look! Ten years down the line, what are we talking about? 😉

It never really bothered me that it was never mentioned on screen. I guess I just didn't think about it that much.

@ Lyri: Yeah that's true, I guess it does help keep the mystery alive. Now that you mention it...I think I'd like to know Angel's, Spike's, and Darla's as well. You know what they say about curiosity. 🙂

I don't think something like that is ever going to be revealed. It gives them a power that they shouldn't really have in my opinion. They were the bad guys, they needed to be separated from the rest of the cast, and this was one of the ways that was accomplished.

People like Harmony and Webs were different because we knew them before they were turned (or, in Webs' case, the characters did) so that's understandable. Although, now that I think about it, I don't remember Harmony using her last name after she was turned.

There has been A LOT of fanfics that give Angel and Spike last names, or rather, Liam and William, because it's convenient for their plot, but I have yet to see two authors use the same surname for either of them.

Really? In most fics I read, Williams last name is 'Pratt'. I've seen multiple ones for Angel though.
Do we even know her first name for sure? It seems likely that they renamed her.

Good point... I actually never realized we didn't hear her name mentioned before she was turned...
I know the Master renamed Darla, but I always thought Drusilla was ALWAYS Drusilla. I guess it could be a fake name, but that seems like a weird thing to do.

That's a very good point. Angelus, Darla and Spike were all renamed, as were Kakistos, I would imagine, and obviously The Master is not his real name, lol. Although Drusilla was a popular name back then, from what I can figure out, it does make sense they would rename her if they rest of the Fang Gang were.

EvilBuffy agrees: Really? In most fics I read, Williams last name is 'Pratt'. I've seen multiple ones for Angel though.

I've heard that used, but I've also read Thatcher, Baker, Smith and other typical English names. The only constant I've heard for Angel, and by constant I mean, like, two fics, is O'Connor, which just pisses me the hell off, because Connor O'Connor? Please.

In Angel fics, they always tend to go with O' something. Which is so stereotypically Irish it makes want to vomit. Not all Irish surnames start with O! Ask Kean!!

Don't some of them start with "Mc" nowadays? XD

Hahaha, high five! Connor O'Connor is exactly why O'Connor annoys me as a possible surname for Liam, too. It's just silly.
Yeah, pretty much everyone uses Pratt now for William, based on one of the non-canon comics. Fics written prior to that comic give him a different last name.

Of course there are exceptions - people who don't know about the comic or who just dislike the name.

He often has something different to Pratt in all-human fics, too, depending on who he's related to (Giles, Jenny, Wesley, Ethan etc.)

I've used Pratt and Giles in my fics.

For the age she lived in I would say that Drusilla wasn't likely to be a fake name, it just sounds fake to us because it's not common anymore. I think it was her real name and that her lastname was more or less irrelevant to plot or character and just neglected.

Or maybe Joss and co wanted to keep some mystery attached to the vamps. I've always like that Darla for example don't remember her own human name, it's kind of I don't know.. tragic but poetic in a way. 🙂
