This was a show that I loved when it was first aired, and I was just wondering whether there are any other Highlander fans here. I'm currently rewatching Season 1. I don't know whether I'll make it through all 7 Seasons again, but so far, it's been really enjoyable, and I'm seeing a lot of stuff that I had completely forgotten.

Back in the early days when "Buffy" and "Highlander" were both airing, (created by Whedon and Widen, respectively, which I always though was kind of interesting) there were quite a few crossover fan fictions between the two shows, since it was fairly easy to make the connection through the fact that both shows had groups called Watchers. I remember that there was a fairly strong group of Buffy/Macleod shippers back then, but I always favored Faith/Methos as the ideal couple.

I love this show. 🙂 Can't believe I missed this thread!

I'm in the middle of season one on my rewatch.

And, actually I just watched Highlander 2 for the first time. I'd been avoiding it . . . for probably obvious reasons. Haha. It was . . . interesting.

I haven't seen Endgame yet. But I'm glad it's got some positive votes here!

And, actually I just watched Highlander 2 for the first time.

The original version, where all of the Immortals were actually natives of the planet Zeist, or the re-edited version, where hey tried to bring it more in line with the original? Both qualify for my "underwhelming" list, but the re-edit was at least watchable. The third, "The Sorcerer," with Mario van Peebles got pretty much back to the original "Highlander" premise, even if their way of bringing in another Immortal AFTER Connor had won the Quickening seemed a little stretched. "Endgame' combined the movie franchise with the TV series in what would have to be described as an alternate universe, with the world still inhabited by Immortals, and the Game still in full swing. The final one, "The Source," can only be described as something that should never have been made, but, once made, should never have been released. Or maybe it just escaped, despite the best efforts of sane people.

There are still those of us loyal fans who wish that there could be a good remake, but, in reality, it's probably best that the franchise be left where it is as of now.

(Incidentally, I'm into Season 4 in my re-watch now. I find it far more entertaining than the Trump/Clinton Follies, which seems to be the only thing on TV these days)

Oh, it was the original. Watched it on Hulu. I will say that I fairly amused by Sean Connery throughout the movie. So that's something? I should check out the re-edit at some point.

I have seen the third one. I enjoyed it.

I haven't seen The Source yet either. Should I just leave it and not be tainted?

The only weapon replica that I own, that isn't my husband's, is Duncan's sword. I think it was one of my very first eBay purchases. 😀

Watch it at your own peril. I have never known anyone who watched it and got the least amount of enjoyment, or sense, for that matter, out of it.

My primary interest in cutlery is Bowie knives, but I have the official Marto edition of Duncan's sword, plus a carbon steel version that could, supposedly, actually be used for cutting, but with the resin handle, I wouldn't trust it to stand up under too much punishment. I also own a battle ready version of Wallace's Claymore from "Braveheart" that I won in a lottery, and an authentic Japanese katana (The blade only. The original hardware was deteriorated too badly to be functional, but I plan to have it refitted some day) that has been dated as being over 150 years old.
