I'm wondering if anyone can help.

While doing some caps on my laptop I switched regions a couple of times forgetting that it only lets me do it 5 times. Now i'm stuck on R1 and need to get it back to R2, is there any programs out there that will help me change it back?

All help appreciated 🙂

A DVD unlocking utililty DOES exist, called, aptly enough, "DVD UNLOCKER", which removes the Region restriction from your machine.

Take a look HERE .

I hope this was of some use to you. If not, please feel free to beat me to death with my own shoes. 😛

Good luck.

You can't change it to all region or 0 on your computer? I was thinking about getting a different region dvd and I remember someone saying that you can change it to R1 on the computer and play it on a R1 dvd player. Is that true? Thanks! 😉

Thanks Old Master 🙂 Will try that in the morning and see how it goes.

Eternal Darkness - You can change it, but it will only let you change regions a certain amount of times, 5 I think it is.

Ok this is weird as I just came to find this thread again to reply!

Just ordering it now so fingers crossed

Actually, if you read the FAQ, it says that the DVD UNLOCKER also works on computer DVD players. 🙂

And I have done a near-exhaustive search for a FREE utility you can use....but I fear I have failed you in that respect, as there appear to be none available....except for a few hacking codes, but I don't want to give you those, as they might hurt your computer.

I'm sorry I wasn't more helpful. I do hope you sort this thing out.

Old Master my friend...run for the hills because i'm coming to get you 😉

I paid for it, as it woked out at just over a fiver, and waited on it to download, and what happens.....I get an error when running the .exe file! So it won't open.

Emailed their customer support who say they aim to answer within one business day.

*coughs* Can I just remind the members of the board that region hacking is against the law?!?! 😀

I'll look into it for you dear... you could also try thedvdforums.com lots of members there willing to help anyone out, just be careful how you word it... clicked by mistake or something but they are leaniant... actually I'll do a search there now 😀

Edit:

Or

But flashing your drive could completely ruin it... Follow the instructions to the T hun 🙂 Good luck!!!

Alternatively you could Google your drive and see what that comes up with 🙂

The problem with region 0 is that some DVDs are set up to play only in a specific region. I know that's of no help, but this region coding is a pain. I've gotten an inexpensive hackable DVD player to play out of region discs.

Technically i'm not hacking, because it lets me change it only several times and then locks, and this is a legal software which I have paid for that will help me get it back to what it was.

I've emailed the customer support people and am trying to re-download it to see if that helps, don't want to mess around with anything else because well its me and I don't want to make things worse.
