I know it does. And there's things you can say that you wouldn't be able to unless the show was on cable.
 
haha i loooove my misfits and skins ! Torchwood,dr who, the inbetweeners, Merlin i also really like. British television ftwftw 😉

Anyone watch last nights christmas special of Misfits? hahaha oh so crazyyyy, but i simply adore it. Nathan is just too mental for his own good :')
 
Abbeycat, I agree, UK shows can definitely get away with more than US shows. Have you ever seen Torchwood for example? That is a show that, if it had been American, would be severely toned down. (This is why I am very wary of the upcoming series, which is being made jointly by British and American companies. The cynic in me suspects that this is why they
killed off Ianto
in the last series, so that Jack can have a nice heterosexual relationship next series).

And Misfits xmas special? Brilliant. Nathan's reaction to the afterbirth is probably the funniest thing the show's ever done. 😀

It was brilliant! I am GUTTED that it stopped just as
they were getting their powers back, or new powers. I WANT MORE 🙁
I love Nathan and Simon, they're brilliant 🙂

I'm a biiiiiiiiiiig fan of Doctor Who! So excited for the Christmas Special! I also love Torchwood, but I've only seen the first few episodes and really need to catch up with that. I also love the IT Crowd and the Mighty Boosh!

They can. I've seen Torchwood, yes. Ohh, I know it would have. If it'd been Americanized like they were going to do on Fox, it would have been very toned down. Yeah, I'm unsure what to think about the new series of Torchwood because of that.

I know. Nathan is just so funny no matter what he says or does. He is ment to be the comic relief.
 
Inbetweeners is great although I don't think Americans would click with the humour. A show that I've found quite amusing recently is 'How not to live your life'. It's not brilliant but raises a few smiles and always entertains us. I'd certainly recommend it to you, Abbeycat.

And the inbetweeners is ace, so freakin funny 🙂
 
I will finally watch the third season of the inbetweeners (with French subtitles, I hardly understand what they say, it's so full of slang! 😀)

By the way, is it true that there is an American adaptation of Skins (well I know that part is true) but that this American version is much, much softer? Doesn't it take the soul out of it?

I loved the Xmas special. It was so good. Nathan has me litterally laughing out loud all the time I can't help myself.

Not sure about this I live in America and have seen the previews I don't know if it will go as out there as the original skins. It is rated TV-MA which is what shows like true blood and Dexter are but since it is on MTV I am not sure.
 
I don't know if anyone's mentioned it, but big big love to the IT Crowd.

DOCTOR WHO! Oh my God, this is actually my favourite thing in the world. I live for this show. Then there's Torchwood, MERLIN (of course)...I used to love Robin Hood - except for when they killed off Marion. The Mighty Boosh, that's something else I love. I also adore Little Britain.

E4...I can't really remember shows I liked on there, apart from Skins.
