What's your early morning ritual? (you can choose two answers) Tell us your secret routine!

I'm still adjusting to a new routine and getting up much earlier than used to. I'd love to become an early morning person, get up, maybe exercise a little and have breakfast... but it might never work for me. For now, I wake up, have breakfast and check the news and emails. Recently, I have changed coffee for tea (black tea with lemon lift).

Usually I check phone/internet etc before I actually get up, then cuppa tea and I'll do some laundry, washing up etc before breakfast and getting ready for work.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to add take a shower. I mostly shower at night, unless for some reason I have to shower in the morning.
I'm an early morning person in the full sense of the term. I go to bed at about 2-3 and get up at about 7 - 7.30. Coffee and Computer within 2 minutes of getting up (I don't do breakfast or lunch).

@r2dh2 No food...I eat about 6 PM.

@Spanky Sometimes it's 6. On average I need 4-5 hours sleep a day. I don't work now so it makes little difference what time I get up.

Normally it's a case of..... Oh Damn I've been sat at my computer on BB or writing all night again.....guess it's time to go to bed.
Yeah...I can do that but it tends to have a knock-on effect so I try to avoid it.

You mean, no food at all during the morning/afternoon? I wake up and I'm super hungry. I've gotten into oatmeal with chocolate flavor protein powder to keep myself satisfied longer. I'd like to push breakfast for later, but I'm having hard time. :/

I've found that an empty stomach clears the mind.
Awake by 6:30am
SO brings me coffee😍
Read travel news on my ipad.
I have breakfast - always oatmeal (porridge) with goji berries.
Excercise is a long walk along the neighborhood nature reserve. I’ll have to get up earlier, once it gets too hot to walk at 8am.

Depends what shift I'm on. I'm up at 04:45 or 05:05 depending on whether I wash my hair or not. Early shift stars at 06:00. Roll out of bed, feed cats, make coffee, shower etc., dressed, out the door.

Now I feel bad for complaining about getting up early :/...
Early morning ritual? Well, first priority is making up the bed. Fluff pillows, smooth bedspread, etc. Sometimes, I MIGHT a teddy bear on top of a pillow (don't you dare say anything about that lol). Then I take a long, hot shower. I'm hooked on Caress soap and Body Wash...so I'm in there for at least 20 minutes! Sheer bliss. Afterwards, I have a large cup of decaf coffee with hazelnut creamer and a little cinnamon. Then I do a bit of cleaning, check email, make a few voodoo dolls and wonder WHY I bother with Instagram. Check BB to see what's new, and dream about thick crust pizza.

Mine is kinda weird. I wake up an hour before I actually have to wake up. I take a shower and then go back to bed. The purpose of this strange ritual is to make sure that my husband and I are not both trying to get in the tiny bathroom at once. When I actually wake up, I feed the dog, let the dog out, blow-dry my hair, change clothes, watch some kind of news, eat some oatmeal, and drink some tea. Then, I go to work.

Can you sleep after taking a shower?
Priceless

Showers wake me up. Baths make me drowsy. I prefer baths.
An early morning ritual? I watch the news then get go to the computer at 4:30 am, at about 6am I'll have a coffee, then maybe some biccies at 10. Then I'd go back to writing on the computer.

If I still lived in South Devon it'd be; I'd get up two hours before I go to sleep not having breakfast until 30 minutes after elevenses.

I still sleep with a rainbow unicorn. That's right 🌈 🦄 . . . and it isn't even from my childhood. It was a gift from two years ago, when I turned 33 (matches my rainbow unicorn slippers). I have no room to judge anyone in the teddy department.

My morning ritual is to roll around in bed trying to get feeling back into my hip where my dog slept on it all night. Then I put on my clothes. (Screw making the bed. It can make itself for all I care.) Then, I go out the door with my dog, visit and feed the sheep, and go for a run (Nantucket sleigh ride) with my dog. Get back from said hike, feed my dog. Then dawdle on BB or YouTube until tea is finished. From there it's lunch prep, sheep duty, and the rest of my day. I'm a night time bather so no morning shower for me. If I'm lucky, a comb works its way into the schedule before noon. If not (mostly it doesn't) then I get to rock awesome bed-head all day...like the boss ragamuffin I am. 😎

Ive always been more of a night person than an early riser so pre lockdown it was definitely a combination of brain dead and grumpy and too busy getting ready.

But after working from home for a year it is a lot more chiiled now. Roll out of bed and log onto the work laptop. Then go and make the first of a succession of brews while checking the internet

I would love to be able to exercise first thing in the morning but doubt I ever will

I wish I could survive on 5 hours sleep but if I go a few days without my 8 hours I start getting cranky. Unless I am on holiday when I can cope with way less sleep for some reason despite the additional drinking

And I definitely wish I could fast like that. I get up about the same time and also eat my dinner at around 6. But in between I eat 4 times!

It's tea...stop being posh! 😄
It varies for me, Sunday dinner can be anytime after 12pm, however any other day it can be called dinner or tea. Tea time in my head though is more around 5pm, whereas dinner time is a lot wider so anytime between 4-8pm. I know I'm odd!

That's one UK rabbit hole we don't want to look down . Once we start arguing about what a bread roll is called 😉 , all our other member nations will realize how nuts Brits really are 😀.

See I always thought that tea was the posh way of saying it.
Tea conjures up images of afternoon tea with dainty sandwiches and cakes that you wish were bigger. Dinner conjures up manky school dinners with too much unidentifiable meat twizzlers, concrete chips, butter beans and spotted dick! Now which of those is the poshest image?

Although to be fair I did have jam roly poly and custard recently for the first time in years and by god it was so good
