Early Or Late Riser

I don't really get up early these days. I'm more of a 'stay in bed until there's something to do/food to eat' kind of person. Plus I have no job so I just stay up late and wake up at whatever time the next day.

I used to love getting up early though, I like seeing the sun rise. It's too much effort to go through all that these days though, sleep is more valuable.

Definately late riser.

I get off work at midnight so when I go home I'm usually up for quite a while winding down or cleaning or whatever. Usually go to bed around 5 or 6 in the morning and then wake up between noon and 2. Don't have to be at work until 4 usually. I like it though. I've always liked night.

I wake up between 9 and 10 which I guess is late but I really think noon or later is waking up late. I dont like getting up that late anymore I feel like I'm losing the whole day.

Through out highschool I had to get up and 6am and leave by 7am cause it took over an hour to get to school

I used to think I was a late riser, but now I have to be up quite early for work (6:30 most days) and it doesn't bother me half as much as I thought it would. Which is weird, because back in uni I used to regularly drop out of classes that started at 9:15, and I only had a 30 minute journey...

I like early mornings, all is good if I only have my coffee 🙂

I use to be a late riser (I miss it) , I would get up at like 12pm...Now I get up at 9am lol

I get up early for school (around 7 am?) but when I don't have school or anything else to get up for, I sleep in LATE. Like, 11 am-noon late.

Just taking an arbitrary time of 7:30 am and saying that anything within 30 minutes of that is the normal time that people usuallt get out of bed, would you consider yourself, either by preference or necessity (i e early job/classes/exercise routine, ets) an early riser or a late riser.

And for the sake of this discussion, "rising" means up, fylly dressed, and ready to start the day, not lying in bed or on a sofa reading, writing, or surfing the net.

I guess i'm neither early nor late, since my alarm starts going off at 7 and i get out of bed at 7:30 exactly during the week. if my daughter lets me, i sleep in until about 8 on the weekends. but i go to bed early, usually by 9, but pretty much always by 10.

Sleep is one of my absolute favorite things. seriously. like on par with chocolate!

I'm an early riser. I wake up at 05:30, do some exercise from 05:45 - 06:30 . Then from 06:30 - 07:30 I get ready for school..

During the school year I'm up between 5:30 & 6 and out the door by about 7. During the summer I sleep in. Of course sleeping in for me means 8 or 8:30 LOL. This mama is grateful for 3 kiddos who let her do that! 😀

I wake up at 6:30 for school and I'm ready around 7:15. On weekends I sleep as much as I want to, not excessively but until 9:30 or 10:00. 11:00 at the very latest. Then when I go to my summer house in New Hampshire, I am an early riser. 7:30 or 8:00 is when I get up and am ready.

"Summer house in New Hampshire"? Very hoity-toity! :D
By that definition, I'm a late riser. Screw it, by any definition, unless I need to be up early, I'm a late riser. But I stay awake until around 3 am, usually. I don't know why. Just can't sleep.

When i have nowhere no be, ther's nothing more I like than sleeping in. used to be a bit of an insomniac a few months ago, couldn't sleep until like 5 or 6am. These days I have to be up at 5am for work, which I'm finding difficult! Ideally I'd like to stay up till 12 or 1am but it's not really an option anymore!

VisionGirl agrees: "Summer house in New Hampshire"? Very hoity-toity!

VisionGirl It's actually not all that fancy...Its kinda falling apart 😀

Early - I've never been one to sleep in, and now I have a toddler. On work days, my alarm goes off at 6:30 AM, other days Myles wakes up around 7:00 or 7:30. If I sleep until 8 AM, that is LATE for me.

Plus, I have a husband that works shift work and I am an insanely light sleeper, so between him coming and going at all hours and his pager going off, my sleep schedule is pretty whacked.

Ever since I had life saving brain surgery eleven years ago, and because of a side effect of that I don't have a sleep pattern, only that I often sleep for up to two hours and that can be at any time of the day. In Sept of 2003 I went eight days without any sleep, then on the ninth day I slept for half an hour.
So I think that most of you are lucky.

Oh wow! That's really tough! I have a lot to be grateful for!
Late riser and glad for it! If the situation calls for being up at a certain time I'll be up at a certain time, but probably grumble about it being before 8am ;P
