What did you guys think about this episode? This is the episode where buffy slays the demon and gets some of its blood on her and and winds up getting an aspect of the demon. And the aspect she gets is hearing peoples thoughts. And while at lunch she hears someone say "this time tomorrow you're all going to die." And she freaks out and drops her tray and tries to find who said it but passes out. Then Giles and the gang go to find out who said it and stop them before lunch time the next day. While buffy is at home resting and she finds out her mom and giles secret. And Then Angel slays the demon and feeds her its heart so she doesnt hear peoples thoughts anymore. And everyone thinks its Jonathon who said it, but in reality, Xander was right. It was the lunch lady. Who would have thought.

Whats all your thoughts and opinions on this episode...Im just kinda in disbelief...it was a crazy episode. The Lunchlady! Who would have thunk it besides Xander?
 
I remember seeing this episode when it first aired. I think it aired after the season 3 finale because the columbine incident had just happened. And the network thought that having somebody wanting to kill a bunch of students wasn't innapropiate at the time. Well anyway that being said, I LOVED THIS EP!!! It's one of my favorite ones in the whole series. I loved the idea of Buffy being able to read everyone's thoughts. I also loved how in thos episode we learned that Cordelia really does speak her mind LMAO. When I first saw it, I thought that Jonathan really was the one that was gonna go on a shooting spree because you would always expect it to be the kid who gets picked on, but instead we got the lunchlady. I tell you when I first saw her pouring that rat poisen it sent chills down my spine. Well I was thirteen and we had some suspicions of the lunch at our school too😀
 
I think this is one of the all time best Buffy eps! It's just so good, it really excels in everything it did, like it captured the suspense perfectly, The mystery, The Comedy and the metaphorical levels are brilliant.
 
Also think its brilliant. Xanders thoughts were hilarious.

'What am I gonna do? I think about sex all the time! Sex! Help! Four times five is 30. Five times six is 32. Naked girls. Naked Women! Naked Buffy! Oh stop me!'


It thought it was great that it hit you in so many ways, hilarious (xanders thoughts, the lunch lady, and buffy finding out about giles and joyce to name but a few) It made you sad (Buffys speech to Jonathon realy hit home with me. about how everyone has there own problems, why should they notice yours?)

'You know what? I was wrong. You are an idiot. My life happens to, on occasion, suck beyond the telling of it. Sometimes more than I can handle. And it's not just mine. Every single person down there is ignoring your pain because they're too busy with their own. The beautiful ones. The popular ones. The guys that pick on you. Everyone. If you could hear what they were feeling. The loneliness. The confusion. It looks quiet down there. It's not. It's deafening...You know, I could've taken that by now.'


and it made me realise that maybe hearing peoples thoughts isn't the super power I most want...I think I'll stick with the ability to fly!!!
 
Absolutely one of my fave eps EVER. I ADORE Cordelia in this ep. We finally get proof that she actually SAYS whatever pops into her head with no filter. Always suspected it, but look, there it is! Love it! Not to mention Oz. Still waters run deep.
 
I absolutely love this eppy. In my opinion it's up there with my top 10 fave BTVS eppys.

They did have to pull it out of it's regular schedule and they delayed it...because it was scheduled to air very shortly after the Columbine incident. Which just goes to prove how Joss and crew really do deal with issues affecting us in the now.
 
Definately in my top ten also of buffy episodes, I love this one, I love how you hear what everyone thinks. Its got some really funny lines in it too.
 
Earshot is an amazing episode, mainly because it explores into a new type of power, and being humourous is always a bonus. I love the end scene, when Buffy says the comment to Giles and he ends up bumping into the tree, that was entertainment. I think Jonathan is funny in this episode, how he is suspected to be a villain...but he's not, but then he is in Season 6. It's funny.
 
This is a good episode. I like how Buffy tortures the girl in her English class (I think her name is Nancy).

It was very powerful. I do remember it being aired during the summertime, because I was seriously confused when the tv guide said that it was a new episode. I think when it aired, they explained before the credits why it was pulled and broadcast later.
 
I think this episode is quite overrated. It has a couple of funny moments, like this one.

It was really great episod! I watched it on TV yesterday. It's really cool, especially some of the comic parts, like the end when Giles "kisses" the tree 😀 It's cool episode 😀
 
this was a good episode it shows that everyone has there own problems and sometimes we are too busy with our own to notice other people's problems, we dont do it on purpose but its just the way it is sometimes.
plus i thought this episode was funny,some of the thoughts Buffy heard were really funny,especially Xander's thoughts because he was always thinking about sex.
 
It has one of my favorite Buffy quotes in it:

Buffy(To Angel): "I didn't see you, so I shoulda known you were there."

I knew the incident at Columbine had delayed an ep, but I didn't know it was this one...I thought it was Graduation, for some reason. To be fair, Buffy wasn't really on my radar at that time...I'm a late addition to the Buffy bandwagon!
