Easter Eggs... post those hidden gems, here!

This thread started out on the S5 board, discussing unaired scenes. I thought it would be great for all of us whom own Buffy and Angel on DVD to discuss any findings with one another. Also (although this is not an Easter Egg) if you want to post unaired YouTube scenes here, you may. Those are gems, themselves.

For anyone who doesn't know what an Easter Egg is its a electronic goody that are hidden on some of the disks. One example is the segment that is aired before The Gift can be found on the "6th disk, under the "Featurettes" section of the Special features, press to the left and you will see a red "B" highlighted. Press enter to access "The Gift Montage"."

I've always wondered just why things like that are done. If I pay for the product, I should have access to every feature it includes. I don't see why I have to search out these little hidden "bonuses." Most people don't know that they're there or only discover them either by accident or by reading about them from someone tho has found them

So the old threads weren´t good enough? 😉 Well here´s that I wrote earlier today.


Season 7 disc 6

1. Select Special features and press enter.
2. Go to featurettes and press enter.
3. Press left and a large B will appear, Press enter.
4. A quick montage (36 seconds!) of scenes mostly featuring heroes and villains from the series will be shown.

Season 6 disc 2

1. Select the episode 'Once More, With Feeling.'
2. Go to the 'Language Selection' and there highlight the menu entry 'English for the hearing-impaired.'
3. Press the 'Left' arrow key on your remote control and the Buffy 'B' will be highlighted. 4. giving you access to 3-minutes worth of footage from the soundtrack signing at Tower Records in Los Angeles.

This one bugs me. On my disc you highligt “resume episode” and press up to highligt the big B. And it´s only 1:40 of highlights!

Season 6 disc 5

1. Select the episode 'Normal Again'
2. Go to the 'Language Selection.'
3. Highlight 'English for the hearing-impaired' and then press the 'Left'.
4. You will now see a sign saying that there is a 'Computer Download' available for the episode call sheet

I don´t have this at all!

Season 6 disc 4

1. Go to Doublemeat Palace.
2. Go to language menu.
3. Highlight resume episode and press up to highlight a B.
4. Press enter to find out how to access a call sheet for the episode normal again.

I agree that it is kind of annoying. But at the same time it´s a nice bonus. I rather have easter eggs than that the material not being included at all. It can be fun to look for them. Not that I do it much. But the Buffy ones really isn´t that good anyway. It´s not like your missing out on something important. The Pirates of the caribbean and LOTR dvd´s on the other hand is pretty fun. For example they include MTV spoofs wich I really enjoy. And the first Pirates include an intervirew with Keith Richards regarding Jack Sparrow. You all know Johnny Depp based the character on Keith, right?

I haven't found any Easter Eggs but a bunch of episodes from different seasons won't play on my computer's DVD player, does that count?...

honestly the easter eggs they gave us just aren't all that exciting. i was majorly disappointed.
