Have you ever seen one?

There will be a total eclipse up north this week. I dont think I have ever seen a total eclipse but definitely a few partial eclipses with the ol pin hole cameras in school. Felt quite eclipsey today tbh, been a very scattered week!

"The closer to the centreline of totality, the more darkness you're gonna get, and at this eclipse we are looking at 62 seconds of darkness at the centreline," Dan Holbrook from the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation

I have. 🙂 It was really cool! Didn’t last too long.

There is another huge one coming next year that I am really excited for. Eclipses are just so dang cool, Y’know?

I've only seen a partial one. The libraries provided cardboard glasses to look at it safely. It was very cool, but that was more the idea of what I was seeing than the actuality of a round disk with a chomp taken out of it.

Also on my bucket list: to witness an aurora!

Why would you want to see an aurora, when the solar winds from the sun bugger up the earth's defenses.

I saw an eclipse of the sun when I was in Junior school, in Bilton, Warwickshire, England. About 57 years ago, impressive.

And did you finds a weird but interesting plant right after that 🤑

No, but sixteen years after that I saw the Triffids.
No but I wish I did! Apparently there was an eclipse when I was in middle school and I didn’t even know so I didn’t realize it was happening lol

The last total eclipse in our area (Toronto) was in the 1990's and everyone at work filed out to see it. Some people had visors like a welding helmet to look at it while the rest of us just burned a few more cells off our retinas. There were also some in my school days. It is strange seeing things get dark in the middle of a cloudless day.
