For my own amusment I'm currently planning to make a series of films of Angel by editing selected episodes togther. There's plenty of stuff to work from. The Darla arc in season two, the Pylea episodes etc. I then plan on making my own DVDs out of them with menus etc and maybe making some of my edits available as Divx files if anybody would be interested in seeing them.

Sounds cool!

But heres a task for you. EEdit all the flashbacks of Angelus, Darla, Holtz ect. together chronilogically making a dvd 'film' of their past. THAT would be cool. especially with the menus and stuff.

The thing is though with your idea I'm not really following. Are you just gonna edit out the credits and put them one after the other???

That's a good idea about the flashbacks. I might try that at some stage.

Yes and no. The idea is to make each film not go past 2hrs.30 minutes, hopefully a bit less. So the hope is to make a film with just one set of opening and closing credits. Episodes may not strictly follow the same way they did as broadcast, some bits may be cut out in order to make things flow as a film. There could be bits from 4-5 eps in there for example. It's just for fun really, an alternative way to watch some of the stories. You can sit down and watch something that has a begining a middle and an end all in two hours. I'm going to start with season 2 as that has more of an arc based flow than the first season which is mostly standalone episodes.

Oh I get what you mean now, I though you were just gonna stick the episodes together, That's a really cool Idea, It's would be deadly to watch the whole Darla arc as one flowing movie, but that's gonna be kinda hard, I mean there's not allot of stuff you can cut out!

Sounds like a cool idea! Just having a think through the bits that might work as a feature length:

-S2 Darla arc (as you mentioned). I think it should start from Angel seeing her, editing out the W&H bits with her so the viewer isn't sure if its really her like Angel. Not sure where it should end, her S2 exit wasn't very exciting, maybe having Angelus burn her would be better.

-S2 Pylea arc. It'd be an easy one to do with not much to cut.

-S3 Pregnancy Arc, from Darla's surprise entrance with the baby to her death.

-S3 Holtz arc, starting with his entrance in modern day, ending with his death.

-S4 Beast/Angelus arc, starting with the Beast arriving, ending with Willow restoring Angel's soul.

-S4 Jasmine arc, starting with Jasmine arriving, ending with her death.

-S5 Lindsey arc, starting with his arrivial, ending with You're Welcome.

-S5 Illyria arc, spanning from Fred's death to her accepting her new body to her final scene in thr Alley.

Cool, thanks for the listings Croft Storm. That will be very useful. I'm starting on season two this week. Doing the Darla Arc and then the Pylea episodes. I hope these will turn out to be quite exciting. Currently deciding on whether to keep the current title sequence or have something more cinema like..

I don't suppose anybody could tell me what font is used for the end credits of Angel?

Thanks.

Just a quick update, I've almost done with the first 'movie'. I decided to start with the Pylea episodes as that was more straight forward. Clocks in at about 2hrs 18 minutes.

After that I want to make a custom DVD cover for it.

Omg I've been thinking about the smae thing for years and it would be absolutely awesome

WOW wow wow I love that idea! the menus part sounds amazing not that the Angel/Darla thing isn't as amazing because it's absolutely better

I have now completed two of the films. 'The Trials Of Darla' from series 2 and 'Reflections In Pylea' from series 2.

Each film is about 2 hours and 20 minutes long.
