What are some elements of the comics for Btvs and ANGEL would you have liked to seen televised? And which issue would you have loved to see on TV?

For me: I would have love to have seen "Angel & Faith" on TV instead of Bones and Dollhouse. The chemistry between Faith and Angel in the comics I just love so much. It's so realistic too I always picture David and Eliza in the comics

Good post but I don't know how you can have chemistry in a comic?...
Wolves At The Gate, plus the flashback of "Buffy vs Dracula" and "Antique". The budget won't be as crazy as other S8 arcs. It's funny, dramatic and tragic. It is also more-or-less self-contained.
I wonder how much Giant Dawn would cost in convincing CGI though.

I also would like to see A&F (only S9, S10 is kinda all over the place so far) on TV. The tone is not the same as AtS/AAtF though. And hey, it will belong to the less-than-1-percent-of-all-TV-series, in which there is no romance subplot at all! Come and get it, shippers!

Rebekah Isaacs nailed David and Eliza. Her work on Buffy S10 though... not so good.

I second Wolves at the Gate. Personally I'd like to see the first half of S8 televised up until the Twilight reveal.

Time of Your Life, in my opinion, would cost no less than half a billion dollars to make.

But hey, maybe after 10 years this kind of CG can be done on a PC and would only cost several months of a single artist! We can dream right?

The Twilight is not so bad, if you delete the space frak and the "prophecy kept as secret by Giles" stuff. Angel really needs a spiral downfall arc, considering that "After the Fall" taught him the wrong lesson. It's just the execution which was ridiculous and embarrassing.

Don't forget, there is also the option of an animated Buffyverse and S8 does appear to be cartoonish. Claymation would not work that well. But going back to puppet Angel from "Smile Time" might be feasible for less cost. Yeah, that's it - Puppet Angel After the Fall!

Angel After the Fall, either as a movie or limited series (the latter might be more feasible)

Honestly, I'm happy leaving BtVS on screen at season 7. But I don't disagree, Wolves at the Gate would be pretty cool.

Angel AtF is the big one for me. I think that would've made a fitting end to Angel. Sort of like a tv movie instead of a S6. Like Farscape:The Peacekeeper Wars or something. A bit of a bigger budget and so forth.

Faith and Angel in London.

Buffy/Satsu... 😀

Angel after the fall would be interesting done in live action, but after that, nah. I don't think the comics are a very good fit with the can show really. They often start okay but end up coming across as crackfic nonsense. Worse then any fanfic out there.

They tend to be out landish, but with the limitations of TV, they'll be more realistic.

Outlandish (a polite word for stupid? 😀), but imo not in character when it comes to the Buffyverse. It doesn't feel like a natural continuation of the show and thats the disturbing bit considering Whedons involvement, but hey, I think the rot had already set in during the latter half of season 7 let alone 8.

And Wolves At The Gate is so crack! that it becomes brilliant. Crackfic only sucks when it tries to be not so crack most of the time. When everything feels wrong, the whole thing feels right as rain.😎

Oh I think Whedon was trying not to be crackfic. Sadly it was so poorly thought out imo as well as written it came across as just that.

It was the first time that I'd ever felt embarrassed to say I was a Buffy fan. And I really, really, mean that.

There are things that did feel like a natural continuation, though. Buffy's continued lack of connection and depression, I don't see her becoming right as rain after S7. That felt natural to me as well as her closeness with Xander, which did start in S7. Giles' continued departure and disconnect from Buffy also felt natural as well as him taking Faith in - I remember that scene of them together in S7 which could be the starting point for this. Willow's growing confidence after her last spell in S7 also felt natural.

Something S8 did right was introducing new characters and getting them to have relationships with the main characters like Renee and Satsu. It's when the comics rehash old relationships and making characters fall in love with their inner circle people: Xander and Dawn shouldn't have happened. In fact, Xander should remain single all his life. He's far more interesting when he's single. Dawn should date kids at her college. Buffy shouldn't have gotten with Angel - the whole space frak thing was a complete disaster. Also, Satsu should have become a regular like Anya and Tara, even if she and Buffy didn't get together.
