Eliza - A Natural Beauty

Read what Eliza and Shannon Elizabeth have to say about plastic surgery.

I'm sure most of you seen or heard about shows like "The Swan" or "Extreme Makeover." If not, they are basically shows about people who gets makeover (with surgery) on TV. Here's what Eliza had to say about this:

"American Pie" beauty Shannon Elizabeth and "Tru Calling" star Eliza Dushku sounded off to "Extra" at the E3 PlayStation 2 party. "To try and actually look like someone else, I think is a little crazy," Elizabeth told us.

"I just hope they're happy in the end with what happens, because that would be really hard to reverse," Dushku added.

i agree with them because those makeover shows are just creepy esp. "i want a famous face"
 
I think there dumb.......if you have a natural beauty u have one, you look better with make up you do....i you look bad eather way...i say deal with it....i totaly agree with them.....and most people have some beauty.......i'm blessed and i have a natural beauty
 
I agree with them about wanting to look like other people, why be like someone else? it would be boring if everyone looked the same!
But if someone's looks is bothering them so much that they can't live with it, and their self esteem is really low cos of it, then I see a reason, but I don't think I'd do it anyway.

On a more serious, relatively straight sounding, note... Hollywood is a brutal, brutal machine. You're bought and sold purely on the basis of appearance, so in that case I actually can... well... I don't like it, but I can... understand?... somebody getting it done for their industry, because they need to remain competitive. I really don't think Dushku would need it, unless she keeps drifting off the road because she can't take her eyes off the rearview mirror, or can't stop laughing hysterically at ugly people.

Anyhow. My point, if there actually is one, is that surgery is a sad fact of Hollywood. But outside of Hollywood, (IE. When it's not necessary for employment) I consider it symptomatic of serious personal problems, and wanting to actually look like somebody else to the extent that you'd give up your own face forever...that's just f**ked up. My face is not perfect. If I could magically, painlessly change a few bits of myself I would. But it is my face, and I'm used to it. I've grown up with it, I've adjusted to it, it's me. Having seen way too many documentaries about how horrible plastic surgery (and the surgeons) really are, I wouldn't dream of it. I'll deal with what I am.

Though it would be easier if who I was happened to be Eliza Dushku shaped. 😀
