Question Eliza as Mary-Jane?

Eliza as a damsel-in-distress would have been a little degrading to watch, since she almost always plays "tough chick" characters. Not saying she wouldn't have been good in the role, though (played a 'nice' girl-next-door type in "The New Guy" rather well, so maybe).

Aside from MJ, there are a few other parts she was considered for but didn't get, most surprising of all Rose in Jim Cameron's Titanic! I realize if she had gotten that part we might not have gotten Faith (or at least her playing Faith), so maybe these kinds of things are for the best...

I would have liked to see ED in that role, if only for the fact that she would have starred in a big blockbuster! Maybe she would have given MJ some personality, although I think KD did an okay job (or at least not as bad as everyone is making it out to be)

I'm a bit confused, how is that degrading?

OK, not degrading, per se (Poor choice of words), but they played up MJ as such a damsel-in-distress. Maybe it's my own bias talking on this one, it's just that I would much rather see Eliza kicking ass. Still wouldn't have been beneath her to take the role (coulda been cool) but a far cry from the Faith I know and love.

On that note, two comic characters I think Eliza would be perfect for: Catwoman and X-23 (she's already voiced the former in an animated movie... ED in the live action catsuit, think back to Jay and Silent Bob).

Oh yeah and Black Widow too - Scarlett Johansson did great, but the fact that Eliza wanted the role... makes you think.

Apparently Eliza's going back to playing kick-ass in Banshee Season 4 which is fitting- pretty everybody in that town is lethal in some way. 🙂

Eliza was perfect as the animated Catwoman and I know she does a good (albeit lighter) job voicing She-Hulk in the new Marvel series 'Agents of S.M.A.S.H (along with Seth Green).
