Eliza Dushku Featured In Pilot For New Saint Series

Eliza Dushku may be back on TV this fall. The first trailer to the new Saint series has been released. More after the jump.

Deadline just released a trailer to a two hour pilot to a new version of The Saint, with Adam Rayner as Simon Templar, a thief and sometime detective. American audiences have seen him on TV with Roger Moore in the title role before he became James Bond, and later Ian Ogilvy.

Dushku plays Patricia Holm, a woman who has very good skills, especially with computers, fighting, and looking good by the pool. Meanwhile, Simon tries to solve a kidnapping while trying to stay a step ahead of a persistent cop. What's also interesting about this is that Moore and Ogilvy will appear in the movie. YouTube just added the trailer after Deadline released it this past Monday:

It will be shown during the MIP TV convention in Cannes, France next week. It's hoped that an American TV network will pick it up as a regular series.

Hopefully, they've learned their lesson from the Val Kilmer movie. They didn't have the P1800 Volvo, and the story just can't work without it. No P1800, no Saint.

I was never a dan of the TV show or the Val Kilmer movie. Maybe third time's the charm. And with Eliza involved, it will certainly be charming 🙂

I will watch this, assuming that it gets picked up, for Eliza. I'd never heard of the series before she signed on, the trailer isn't especially compelling to me, but she's there, so I'll at least give it a shot.
