Eliza Dushku has split with her boyfriend of five-years former NBA star Rick Fox and moved back to her home town of Boston.

She reportedly told the Boston Globe;
"Rick's an L.A. guy and I'm a Boston girl," adding that she bought a condo near her childhood home.

Dushku, 33, and Fox, 44, began dating in 2009 and moved in together in 2010. The actress has lived in L.A. for 22 years, the newspaper said.

"I'd rather be a little physically cold here than emotionally cold in L.A.," she said. "I missed my town and I missed my family."

Though she wants to continue in the movie industry Eliza also mentioned a desire to go back to school! Possibly to study psychology and sociology

"I'm actually looking to go back to school," she told the Los Angeles Times' Hero Complex in March. "One of the areas that's so interesting to me -- and obviously it played out in the show 'Dollhouse' -- are these deep crevasses of our brains and our emotions that make us tick, and what those combinations and variables are that are looked at in projects like ['Gable 5'] and projects like 'Dollhouse.'"

Personally I say good for her. I think it's sad that she has split with her boyfriend but I very much understand and respect her thing about rather being physically cold than emotionally cold. Having her on Instagram has made me aware that she seems to have a very large and warm family so I can understand that she would want to be close to them again. 🙂

Also, it's never too late for school! Having studied conciousness I can only say that it is a deep and fascinating subject. Go Eliza!

Yea I saw that too. Kind of saw it coming when she bought a place in Boston. That sucks but from her post's on Twitter it was a mutual thing and there's no resentment on either side. I think it's great that she wants to be back home with her family and go to school. Good for her. I wish I could be in one of her classes, that'd be awesome.

Good for her! Too often people sacrifice too much because of people's expectations. It's great that she's thinking of going back to school, more power to her!

First reaction, in all seriousness, was 'She's Single!' :banana:

I'm sorry, that was very shallow. 😱

In all seriousness, good for her-🙂 I'm glad she's doing what makes her happy instead of what she thinks is 'correct' or whatever, for her career.

I empathise with missing a big, warm family to take comfort in, and I'm glad that her split with Rick (who seems like a great guy, from what I've seen) seems amicable, so that she keeps all those good memories and maybe keeps hold of a good relationship. 🙂
